Louann Holmes, 72 of Chebanse, passed away September 19th, 2026 at home.

She was born December 8 1953 in Kankakee, Illinois, daughter of Delrey and Vernis Elberts. Louann married Tippie Holmes on November 25th, 1998.

She is survived by son Rick (Jill) Bewsey and daughter Veronica Bewsey. Grandchildren, Cole (Paige) Bewsey, Tyrese Billips, Katie (Nate) Bewsey, MaKyla (Terrion) Armstrong, and Ashlyn (Dylan) Armstrong and 9 great-grandchildren

Burial will be held at a later date at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood.

Linda Lou Jacob, age 90, of Kankakee, Illinois, passed away Monday, October 19, 2026, surrounded by her loving family at home.

She was born on March 20, 1936, in Joliet, Illinois, to Clarence and Alice Mae (Walls) Macier. Linda married Dennis Kenneth Jacob on June 14, 2008, in Charleston, Illinois.

Linda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who cherished her family and the time they spent together. Throughout her life, Linda worked as a waitress, painter, and provided care and supervision in a residential setting for individuals with developmental disabilities at LARC. She found enjoyment in camping, watching movies, and cooking. Linda was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Bourbonnais, Illinois, where her faith was an important part of her life.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Dennis Kenneth Jacob; sons, Peter (Sherry) Lutz, Clarence and (Rhonda) Lutz; daughters, Debbie (Rich) O’Brien, Linda (Monica Pulchert) Lutz, Laura Coleman and Lisa Hughs; daughter-in-law, Carrie Robertson; 16 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren.

Linda is preceded in death by her parents; her bothers, Clarence Macier and Carl Macier; her son, David Robertson; her daughter, Alice Gibbons; son-in-law, Ron Coleman.

Betty Ann Jaenicke Trudeau, 86, passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at Riverside Hospital. She was a resident of LaBella Nursing Home, Clifton, formerly of Kankakee, IL and Johnson City, Tn.

Betty was born on February 15, 1940, in DuQuoin, Illinois, to Ray and Elizabeth (Hess) Wheatley. In 1985, she married Robert Trudeau in Camden, South Carolina. Robert preceded her in death on January 5, 2025.

Betty was a homemaker and secretary before retiring. She enjoyed a variety of activities throughout her life, including playing cards and board games, bowling, cooking and baking, dancing, listening to music, traveling, and walking for exercise. She especially enjoyed spending time with her girlfriends, going out for lunch, and having a glass of Chardonnay.

Betty was formerly affiliated with St. Mark United Methodist Church in Kankakee. She was also involved in several clubs and organizations, including Eastern Star, the Red Hat Club, and the Newcomers Club.

She leaves behind her loving son, Alan (Kris) Jaenicke; daughters, Catherine Jaenicke (John) Devries and Marie Panozzo; brother, Jerry (Mary Ann) Smith; stepson, Todd (Betty Ann) Trudeau; stepdaughter, Laurie Trudeau; eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren and other relatives and friends who will cherish her memory.

Pamela J. Britt, 65, of Kankakee, passed away peacefully, Thursday morning, October 15, 2026 at her home.

She was born September 28, 1961, in Kankakee, the daughter of Delbert and Delphia Kent. Pamela married the love of her life, Delbert Daniel Britt, on August 20, 1983, at Faith Baptist Church.

Pam was a homemaker and church secretary. She was a devoted member of Faith Baptist Church, where she was actively involved in many church activities and generously volunteered her time.

She had a creative spirit and enjoyed spending her free time crafting and working on word puzzles and Sudoku. She also loved birdwatching and appreciating the simple beauty of nature.

Pam is survived by her husband, Delbert Britt of Kankakee; two sons, Eric Britt of Kankakee and Steven Britt of the Philippines; mother, Delphia Kent of Bradley; two brothers, Michael (Michelle) Kent of Kankakee and Jason (Keri) Kent of Kankakee; brothers-in-law, Vernon (Cindy) Britt of Longview, Texas, and Jimmy (Tracy) Britt of Jacksonville, Texas; sister-in-law, Debbie (Greg) Porter of Tennessee; as well as 9 nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her father, Delbert Kent.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, from 9 a.m. until the funeral service at 11 a.m. at Faith Baptist Church, Bourbonnais with Pastor Terry Angela officiating.

Stephen J. Granger, 78, of Bourbonnais, Illinois, passed away on October 13, 2026, at Riverside Medical Center. He was born on April 28, 1948, to Chester and Marie (Betourne) Granger.

Stephen married the love of his life, Sharon, on September 8, 1990, in their home. They shared many years together, building a life filled with companionship and shared interests. Stephen worked as a welder, a trade that reflected his hands-on skills and hard work for over 50 years. He enjoyed his passion for tractors. He was a member of the Central Illinois Green Club, the Slow Boys Tractor and Engine Club, the Will County Threshermen’s Association and Thee Old Time Farm Show. Through these organizations, he shared his appreciation for antique tractors, farm equipment, and preserving agricultural traditions.

Stephen is survived by his beloved wife, Sharon; his sister, Diane Hogan; his niece, Kelly Hogan, of Chebanse; and his nephew, Sean Hogan, of Braidwood; brothers-in-law, Terry Jensen of Manteno and Kenneth Jensen of Kankakee; sisters-in-law, Janet Mabis of Sheldon, Brenda (Donnie) Mulder of Bristol and Patricia (Chris) Tomblin of Kankakee; three nieces and four nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Marie (Betourne) Granger, and his brother-in-law, Paul Hogan; father-in law and mother-in-law, Ralph and Shirley Jensen.

William Leonard Shoufler, 72, of Milford, passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2026, at Iroquois Memorial Hospital in Watseka.

William was born on December 21, 1953, at the U.S. Army Hospital in Stuttgart, Germany, the son of Arthur Leon and Elsie Sayers Shoufler. William and his mother gained full U.S. citizenship in 1959. On August 26, 1972, he married Peggy Jean Anderson at the Methodist Church in Milford, and she survives.

In addition to his beloved wife, Peggy, William is survived by his two sons, Clay (Jaclynn) Shoufler of Williamsville, IL, and Adam (Karen) Shoufler of Watseka, IL; and his eight cherished grandchildren: Alexis, Hallee, Ainslee, Kolbee, and Brynlee (children of Adam and Karen), and Blake, Isabelle, and Gavin (children of Clay and Jaclynn). Also survived by sister in law Lori & Rob Curtis, nephew Cameron Curtis & family, niece Carlee & Matthew Johnson & family, and sister in law Laura Anderson, several aunts, uncles and cousins.

William was preceded in death by infant son, Michael Thomas Shoufler; his parents, Arthur Leon and Elsie Margaret Shoufler; and brother-in-law, Jeff Anderson.
William lived a life with a servant's heart, putting others' needs before his. Professionally he gave his best effort and then some as a maintenance and electrical tech for Food Machinery Corporation (Hoopeston) and the Milford Area Public Schools.

In Loving Memory of Bruce

Bruce Allen Cole, 58, of Kankakee, Illinois, formerly of Gary, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2026 at St. Mary’s Hospital.

Bruce will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and community. He was a devoted brother, son, and uncle whose love for others shaped the way he lived his life.

He grew up in a family of five in Gary, Indiana. Family was always at the center of his world. Later in life, Bruce was blessed to live with his sister, Rose, for years. He also made sure to call his brother, Erick, every single day to share what was happening in his life. His siblings, Rose, Erick, and Justin, were deeply loved by Bruce, just as he was deeply loved by them. Their brother, Fred, passed away five months ago, making this loss especially difficult for the family.

Bruce had a tender and sentimental side that those closest to him knew well. His beloved stuffed teddy bear, Allen, was named after Bruce’s middle name, and Bruce had slept with him every night since he was a child. He also treasured a little gopher given to him by his nephews. These simple things brought him comfort and happiness throughout his life.

He loved the color blue, partly because it matched his beautiful blue eyes, but also because of his deep love for the Dallas Cowboys. He was a true Cowboys fan. Kenneth Lee Giroux (a lifelong resident of Bradley and Bourbonnais), 80, died October 3, 2026, at the Illinois Veterans Home Manteno.

He was born August 5, 1946 in Oak Park, Illinois, the son of William Kenneth and Whilma (Deliere) Giroux. He married Joan (Holz) Giroux on August 17, 1968.

Kenny was a 1964 graduate of Bradley-Bourbonnais Community High School and graduated from Kankakee Community College with an Associate’s Degree in Marketing. As an Eagle Scout, he earned the Order of the Arrow, the highest award in Scouting. A U.S. Air Force Veteran, Kenny served with the 8th Aerial Port Squadron in Vietnam and the Philippines, during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he was employed by Illinois Bell for over 20 years.

Kenny’s passion was aviation. He first soloed in 1965. He owned and flew ultralights and was a certified ultralight instructor. Kenny was the proud owner of a 1947 Cessna 140 for many years. As a member of the E.A.A. since 1992, he attended the AirVenture airshow at Oshkosh for 35 years. He was also an avid reader. Kenny loved all animals, and they were in turn drawn to him. He especially enjoyed pet visits at the Illinois Veterans Home and always had treats ready for the dogs.

Valarie Jane Trudeau, 65, of Kankakee, formerly of Momence, passed away on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at Riverside Medical Center.

She was born May 24, 1961, in Kankakee, the daughter of Edgar Paul and Hilma (Williams) Lee. Throughout her working years, Valarie was employed in warehouse work and also worked in the cosmetology field. She was a caring and involved member of her community and proudly served as president of MYSA. She coached soccer and softball.

Valarie had a creative spirit and enjoyed crocheting, gardening, and art. She also loved to travel and treasured the opportunities she had to experience new places and make lasting memories. Above all, Valarie cherished her family and the time she was able to spend with those she loved.

Surviving are her children, Deavin P. Lee, Dustin R. Trudeau, and Tara N. Blanchette; 5 grandchildren, Brenden Genotte, Rylan Bray, Avianna Trudeau, Chase Lee, and Brooklyn Mikos; brother, Robert L. Stamm Sr. and his wife, Sharon; brother-in-law, Vernon Fisher; best friend, Eloise Farmer; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar Paul Lee and Hilma Lee; and her sisters, Paula Fisher and Sandy Lee.

Paul LaRay Mills, 84, of St. Anne, Illinois, passed away peacefully at home on September 28, 2026, surrounded by the love and memories of a life well lived.

Born on February 16, 1942, at St. Mary’s Hospital, Paul was the son of Paul Joseph Mills and Rowena June Crook Mills. He grew to become a man known for his strong work ethic, generous spirit, and remarkable craftsmanship. On July 24, 1999, he married Judith Elaine Watts in a beautiful outdoor ceremony at the home of his son Wayne Mills, beginning a chapter of companionship and devotion that brought him great joy.

Paul made his living as a cabinet maker, but those who knew him understood that woodworking was more than a profession—it was an expression of his creativity and skill. His hands shaped not only wood, but lasting memories for family and friends. He also found great enjoyment in gardening, lapidary work, and rock hounding, appreciating the hidden beauty that could be uncovered with patience and care. Though he never sought recognition through formal volunteerism, Paul was always ready to lend a helping hand, offering kindness and support whenever it was needed.

A proud patriot, Paul served in the United States Navy from June 1965 until February 1970. He carried that sense of duty and integrity throughout his life and remained grounded in his faith as a member of Peoples Church in Bourbonnais, Illinois.
