Medication Safety 101: Here’s What NOT to Mix 💊 Certain foods and drinks can alter how your medications work or cause unwanted side effects. Grapefruit, alcohol, vitamin K-rich foods, and more can interact with common meds like statins, blood thinners, and antibiotics.

Always check with your pharmacist or doctor before mixing meds with anything new. Your safety should always come first.

We are so excited and proud. What an amazing way to be welcomed to Shawnee. 💙

Happy National Dog Day from the Pharmacy of Grace family!

Our team cares for our patients and serves our community every day. Today, we’re celebrating some of the four-legged friends who bring a little extra joy to our team's lives once they go home.

🐾 Cuco – Sandra’s 5-year-old bully/pit mix recently celebrated his birthday! Born July 9, this cuddle bug clearly knows how to enjoy some quality time with his lovies.

🐾 Wish & Rita – Michaela’s rescue pups are 6 and 3 years old, and they’re absolutely picture perfect.

🐾 Dolly – Samantha’s 1½-year-old Great Pyrenees/Beagle mix has mastered the adorable side-eye.

🐾 Chelsea – Stacy’s Goldendoodle is our resident pretty princess. Chelsea turns 11 on September 27, and she is ready for her close up.

🐾 Arlo – Brandon’s 9-year-old Silver Lab. A good boy, through and through.

🐾 Lloyd – Andi’s 6-year-old pup has a tongue made for giving great kisses!

🐾 Roxie and Rosie - Ana's adorable duo are two-year-old sisters and are seriously cute!

We’re grateful for the people who make Pharmacy of Grace what it is, and for the furry companions who make their days a little brighter. Flip through the pics to check em out.

Happy National Dog Day from all of us at Pharmacy of Grace! Want to share a picture of your pooch? We'd love to see them below! 🐶 ⬇️

We were honored to welcome representatives from the William Wright Brown Family Foundation and the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation to our new Shawnee location!

A generous gift from the Foundation helped make the Shawnee expansion possible and we were excited to show them the pharmacy and share more information about the need in Shawnee.

Founded on a deep commitment to making a lasting difference, the William Wright Brown Family Foundation invests in vital community resources. Together, the family recognizes the urgent need for accessible healthcare and generously supports our mission to break down economic barriers to pharmacy care.

Thank you to the William Wright Brown Family Foundation for your partnership and vision. Your support ensures that we can continue expanding care and serving our community for generations to come. 💙

Healthcare access brings everyone together. 💙

Earlier this month, we welcomed both Representative Representative Sharice Davids and Senator Roger Marshall, M.D. to tour our new Shawnee location. From seeing our new ScriptPro robot in action to hearing directly from a patient whose life was turned around by affordable prescriptions, both visits prove that compassionate healthcare is something we can all agree on.

If you lost power this week, please read this before throwing away your medications.

With thousands of Wyandotte County residents still without power, we know many neighbors are worried about whether refrigerated medications are still safe to use, especially insulin.

Here's what our pharmacists want you to know:
✅ Don't automatically throw your medication away
✅ Many insulin products can safely be stored at room temperature up to 86°F for up to 28 days
✅ Ozempic and Wegovy have different storage rules than insulin
✅ If you're unsure, call a pharmacist BEFORE discarding anything

The safety of a medication after a power outage depends on the specific medication, the temperature, and how long it was exposed. Don't guess! We can help you figure it out.

Visit our blog for our full pharmacist-approved medication safety guide. ⬇️

Or call us directly:
📞 KCK: 913-953-8260
📞 Shawnee: 913-985-6337

We are open Monday–Friday, 8 AM–4 PM
You can also call the manufacturer directly for guidance.

KC Cares Podcast is focusing on Pharmacy of Grace this week! Listen to the Facebook live streaming interview tomorrow morning at 10am!

A prescription can’t work if it never gets filled. That’s why Pharmacy of Grace exists. This Friday on KC Cares, Michael Fink joins us to discuss how the organization helps uninsured and underinsured patients access affordable medications and maintain their health with dignity. We think you’ll be inspired by what’s possible when a community comes together to care for its neighbors. This Friday at 10 a.m. on Facebook Live and streaming on LinkedIn under Charitable Communications.
