Turns out our therapists are great listeners... until there’s a buzzer involved. 😂🎤

Our Ellie team traded therapy rooms for game show glory at Game Show Battle Rooms! There were big laughs, questionable answers, and a surprising amount of competitive energy. 👀🏆

Taking care of others starts with taking care of each other-and sometimes that looks like a little friendly competition. 🐘

If you only let yourself rest after everything is done, you may never really get the chance. There will almost always be another email to answer, another chore to finish, or another task waiting for your attention. Rest isn't something you have to earn by pushing yourself to the limit. It's part of taking care of yourself so you can keep showing up for the people and things that matter. If guilt shows up the moment you slow down, you're not the only one-and it's something you can explore with support if it's getting in the way of everyday life.

College move-in day isn't just about boxes and dorm rooms. It's a transition-for students, parents, siblings, and families. You might feel excited for what's next while also grieving what's changing. That's normal. Big life transitions ask a lot from us emotionally, even when they're positive. If this season feels heavier than expected, you're not alone. Sometimes the biggest adjustment isn't unpacking your things-it's adjusting to a new version of everyday life.

🎉 Please join us in giving another big Ellie welcome to the newest therapist on our team! We’re so excited for you to get to know. Noah! 🎉 He is joining our Northland clinic and currently has weekend and evening availability!

Here is more from Noah:

Hi there! I'm Noah, and I'm an LMSW working with clients ages 12 and up, and I would love to meet you.

Do you feel as if there is no wind in your sail? Are you adrift, lost at sea, with no clue where to go next? Maybe life has thrown you into a phase you didn't see coming. Maybe self-doubt has become louder than your own voice, or maybe you're simply ready to take the reins of your own life. If so, my door is open for you. As William Ernest Henley wrote, "I am the master of my fate, I am the captain of my soul," and I believe that's true for every person I have the privilege of seeing in my practice. You already have what it takes, and I'm here to help you find it.

In my practice, I specialize in men's mental health, life transitions, self-esteem and personal growth, and more. I'm passionate about creating a space where you feel genuinely safe to open up, be real, and do the work. I draw from CBT, ACT, solution-focused therapy, motivational interviewing, and other modalities to help you build insight, develop coping skills, and move forward with intention.

Every day, I show up warm, present, and there for you. Ready to be the captain of your own ship? Reach out today. Let’s start the journey.

Noah is being supervised by Larissa Theison, LCSW.

✨ More exciting news-our team continues growing! We’re thrilled to welcome a wonderful new therapist who is ready to make a meaningful difference in our community. 🩵 Tyann is joining our Lee's Summit Clinic. She works will all ages and has weekend and evening availabilty!

Here is more from Tyann:
Hi, I'm Tyann ☺️ Are you a mom who feels like she's holding everything together on the outside while quietly falling apart on the inside? Maybe you're navigating pregnancy loss, the emotional rollercoaster of infertility or surrogacy, or the invisible weight of just trying to keep up with what modern motherhood demands. You are not alone - and you deserve a space where you can finally set it all down. As a mom, a surrogate, and someone who has walked through pregnancy loss myself, I don't just understand this journey professionally. I've lived it. I'm a Licensed Master Social Worker with more than 10 years of experience, and I'm here for you.
I focus on perinatal mental health, pregnancy loss, and maternal anxiety - and I also work with children ages 5 and up who are navigating anxiety and trauma. I draw from CBT, ACT, and TF-CBT, blending evidence-based tools with genuine human connection to help you heal, build confidence, and feel more like yourself again.
I show up with warmth, validation, and a deep belief that laughter and joy can coexist with the hard stuff - because healing doesn't mean the pain disappears, it means you don't have to carry it alone. Ready to take a breath and feel supported? Reach out today - I'd love to walk alongside you.

Tyann is currently being supervised by Larissa Theison, LCSW

We have someone new to celebrate! 🥳 We’re incredibly excited to welcome another talented and compassionate therapist to our growing team. ✨ Haily is joining our Lee's Summit Clinic. She currently has evening and weekend availability!

Here is more from Haily:
Hi there! I'm Haily 🙂 Are you feeling overwhelmed by life's transitions, weighed down by grief, or struggling to feel confident in who you are and the relationships around you? Maybe you're carrying more than you've let on - and you're not sure where to even begin. You deserve a space that feels less like a clinical appointment and more like talking to a supportive friend who genuinely gets it. I'm a Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor in Missouri, and I believe therapy works best when it feels safe, warm, and truly collaborative - because healing happens when you finally feel understood.

I specialize in grief, trauma, relationships, and life transitions, with a particular passion for working with teens and young women navigating self-esteem and identity. I draw from Emotion-Focused Therapy, Trauma-Focused CBT, and a person-centered approach - always tailored to where you are and what you need most.

I show up with warmth, empathy, and zero judgment - and I also bring my love of horses, good books, and quality time with family into who I am as a person, because I believe the human behind the therapist matters. You deserve someone who sees you fully. Reach out today - I'd love to meet you.

She is currently supervised by Clarisha Blaylock, LPC.

Emotional regulation is one of those phrases we hear a lot, but it doesn't mean staying calm all the time or never having big feelings. It means noticing what's happening inside you, making space for those emotions, and having more choice in how you respond. Some days that might mean taking a break before replying to a text. Other days it might mean recognizing you're overwhelmed and asking for help. It's a skill, not a personality trait. And like any skill, it can grow with practice and support.

The way a coach responds after a mistake can stick with a young athlete long after the game is over. Emotionally safe coaching isn't about lowering expectations-it's about helping kids learn, grow, and keep showing up with confidence. That's a win that lasts beyond the season.

School anxiety doesn't always look like worry. Sometimes it looks like stomachaches before school, frustration over little things, wanting to stay home, or coming home completely drained. Every child responds differently to stress, and these behaviors don't automatically mean anxiety. But they can be an invitation to slow down, ask questions, and stay curious about what your child may be experiencing. If school-related worries continue or start affecting daily life, talking with a mental health professional may help your family better understand what your child needs.
