This is so exciting!!!

A new destination for inclusive play is coming to Overland Park! 🌳💚

Cunningham Recreation, in partnership with Blue Valley Recreation Commission and Variety KC, is excited to announce an upcoming all-inclusive playground designed to bring children and families of all abilities together through the power of play.

This thoughtfully designed space will feature accessible play equipment, sensory-rich experiences, ground-level activities, inclusive swings, wide transfer systems, and carefully selected amenities that support physical, social, and cognitive development. With accessible pathways, welcoming gathering areas, and comfortable seating throughout, caregivers and families can stay connected and engaged every step of the way.

Construction is expected to begin soon, with completion anticipated in Fall 2026, and excitement is already building for what will become one of the region’s premier inclusive play destinations.

Because when barriers are removed, play becomes possible for everyone. 💙

Inclusion isn’t about having all the answers.
It’s about being willing to learn.

Belonging isn’t something children should have to earn.
It’s something they should be given from the very beginning.

✨ Introducing Bright Sky’s Social & Life Skills Groups! ✨

This summer, we’re creating a space where kids can build confidence, strengthen friendships, and practice real-life social skills in a fun and supportive environment.

Our small groups are designed for children ages 6–13 and focus on:
✨ Conversation & friendship skills
✨ Emotional regulation
✨ Teamwork & problem-solving
✨ Confidence in social situations
✨ Flexible thinking & independence

Each session combines structured learning, games, movement, creative activities, and peer interaction to make learning feel natural and engaging. Groups are intentionally kept small (4–6 children) so every child receives individualized support and opportunities to connect.

📍 Tuesday, Wednesday OR Thursday options
