There is no standard private session with me.

If you have been following Robertta Robertson , you know that she’s all about fascia. This spring she’s been working hard to release rib flares and she’s been making progress but the results haven’t been staying around like she’d like.

She requested one on one session so we could improve her functional breathing and support the fascia release she’s been working so hard to achieve.

Guided by beautiful music and slow steady breathing patterns, you’ll move into a parasympathetic state — the body’s natural rest-and-digest mode. When people begin their healing journey they think that as they grow, they will feel less….and that’s not actually how it works at all.

Life still be life-ing! Challenges will still come up and you may still have feelings about what your are experiencing.

But they won’t be unprocessed feelings from years ago. No unexpected triggers popping up to disrupt your day. What you feel will be an appropriate response to what you are experiencing right now.

There’s no more outbursts and meltdowns. Things come up, you feel the feels and you deal with it and move on.

The way you breathe shapes your body.
This isn’t a hack. It’s not a quick fix.
It’s a pattern.

Most people are breathing wrong—and don’t even know it.

Chest breathing.
Sucking the stomach in all day.
Using the neck and shoulders instead of the core.

A lot of people are trying to get a tight, snatched waist
while literally training their body out of using their core all day.

Because your diaphragm is part of your core.

It works with your deep core, your pelvic floor, your obliques—
this isn’t just breathing… this is stabilization.

Your deepest core muscle isn’t your abs—
it’s your diaphragm.
And most people aren’t using it.

So now breathing is shallow.
Core isn’t activating the way it should.
And what you see starts to change.

Bloating.
Rib flare.
Posture shifts.
A midsection that looks pushed out.

And people think it’s fat.

A lot of the time… it’s pressure and pattern.

Because a snatched waist isn’t just about losing fat—
it’s about how your body manages pressure from the inside.

When your breath is working,
you create internal pressure that supports your spine,
stabilizes your core,
and pulls everything in and up.

When it’s not…
everything gets pushed out instead.

And if you’re constantly sucking it in?

You’re shutting down your diaphragm.
Creating tension, not tone.
Disconnecting your breath from your core.

If you’re constantly sucking it in,
you’re actually preventing your core from doing its job.

And then layer in the nervous system—

Shallow breathing keeps your body in a stress state.

And your body won’t let go of your waist
when it thinks you’re under threat all day.

Ribs flare.
Pelvis shifts.
Everything loses alignment.

Think ribs down. Pelvis neutral.
Breath expanding 360.

Not just pushing your stomach out—
expanding your entire torso.

You don’t need another ab workout.

You need a new breathing pattern.

Getting to this phase of life is an important one.
It’s not about cussing or telling people off.
F*cktose intolerance is a sign that it’s time for a healthy boundary.
This big healthy feeling is a sign from your body that you have had enough. Likely awhile ago, but you’ve been ignoring it so now it’s SPICY.
Perhaps this is a pattern for you. A pattern of letting people overstep, shoving down your feelings and then boiling over. Followed by a shame spiral.
The cure for f*cktose intolerance is simple. Listen to your body. Notice it’s cues. How it tightens. When it resists. Journal and self reflect. What’s coming up and why?? Then speak up early and remember clear is kind.
** Pro-Tip! It’s hard to hear boundaries from someone all up in their feels…so take time to process yours in the privacy of your own journal so you can make the focus of your conversation about a clear boundary without emotion-laden language. **

When the body is in a triggered fight or flight state, you may fight yourself unable to stop. Your to do list gets longer and longer as you attempt to hold off impending doom.

Over time this becomes a pattern. The nervous system believes that if you just keep moving you’ll be safe.

You can’t stop. You move from one big project to the next. Even vacations are a whirlwind.

Maybe this isn’t just “who you are”. Maybe this is a pattern your nervous system has gotten locked into.

Maybe…just maybe….you could teach your body it is safe and that it can slow down.

This is the work we do in one on ones using somatic experiencing techniques.

With each consecutive session we work together to teach the body that it is safe. As you use these simple skills in your life, you may not recognize yourself in a few short months.
