About This Session:

This session will focus on how to have supportive, effective conversations with youth about va**ng cessation. Participants will explore strategies for engaging in youth-centered conversations about quitting va**ng including asking about va**ng, understanding a young person’s readiness to quit, responding to challenges and concerns, identifying realistic next steps, and connecting to cessation support. The session will emphasize a youth-centered approach that builds trust, supports autonomy, and connects young people with appropriate resources to help them stop va**ng.

September is National Recovery Month. To help support families, we'll be sharing resources and insights from SAMHSA (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration) throughout the month.

When recovery housing, peer support, treatment, employment services, and other community supports function as a coordinated network, communities create the conditions where recovery can flourish.

As we wrap up National Community Health Worker Week, we celebrate our SB-CHWs that continuously show up for students and families, both in the school and community. The work they do each day changes outcomes for children and families in rural communities.

This past week has been busy for our school partners as they prepare for students returning. Several of our partners held back-to-school events to kick off the school year and welcome families!

🎉 Parsons School District hosted VikingFest for the 2nd year in a row, with over 600 families in attendance.

🎉 South Callaway hosted Bulldog Bash for the first time and had over 150 families connected with community resources.

🎉 Kennett also hosted their Back-to-School Bash for the first time and over 230 families attended.

We're proud to partner with communities that go above and beyond to set students and families up for success!
