So let me get this straight - The judge acknowledged this man acted in self
-defense, but scolded him for having "poor judgement" for bringing a a gun to the mall and asked "Why would you need a gun at the mall?" Seems pretty obvious that he needed a gun at the mall and that the "judge" is the one with poor judgement and absent reasoning skills...

A chaotic scene that played out at Fairlane mall on July 3 left three shot and two dead after a fight escalated. The 19-year-old who shot and killed a man dead in self defense was sentenced to probation.

We had a great time meeting and training some folks that care about being safe and responsible citizens and protectors! 10 students took their Saturday to get educated and trained for something we all hope will never happen. Sad story of a good Samaritan trying to help and ended up losing his life. Always ask the question, "Is it worth dying or going to jail for?" before taking action. In this case, maybe it was, but you have to ask the question and then be prepared for the outcome.

The top screw is what was originally in my mom's strike plate for the dead bolt on her front door. The bottom screw is what is there now. Please replace your strike plate screws with some that are 3-4" long. It will increase the force required to gain entry from approximately 2 kicks to closer to 13 at 3 times the force per kick. Hopefully, any intruder will get tired after a few kicks and leave. This will buy you time, and time buys you options.
