ASHH contracts with all Managed Care Organizations (MCO) in the entire state of Kansas (KS) that serve individuals on the following Medicaid Waivers:

High temperatures can be especially dangerous for older adults and individuals with disabilities. If you're caring for a loved one—or checking in on a neighbor—keep these important safety tips in mind:

1. Drink more water than you think you need. Stay hydrated throughout the day, even if you don't feel thirsty.
2. Find a cool place to stay. Use air conditioning whenever possible or visit a cooling center, library, or other air-conditioned public space.
3. Avoid outdoor activities during peak heat. If you must be outside, plan activities during the early morning or evening when temperatures are lower.
4. Don't ignore signs of heat-related illness. If someone feels dizzy, weak, confused, nauseated, or has stopped sweating, seek medical attention immediately.
