Last night we gave out 2 scholarships to the Staley Choir kiddos! We did things a little different. This year we honored 2 boys who lost their battle with mental health way too soon. In honor of Brian Barnes, Douglas Patsy Barnes , we awarded Kyan Crumley for the boy. In honor of Ethan Schuster, Anna Schuster, we awarded Aarylin Holt for the girls. In addition to the 2 scholarships, I was honored to receive 2 bonus scholarships! In loving memory of Logan LeBlanc, Kristi Teegarden awarded Logan Lawrence. In loving memory of Lance, Trish Redford-Roath and his cousins awarded Olivia Bransfield!

Congratulations to all of won. We keep fighting the stigma. We keep fighting to keep our children's legacy alive. We keep fighting to make mental health acknowledged. YOU MATTER!

Meeting endurance cyclist Taylor Lideen - Athlete was at the very top of my wish list for our time at Unbound Gravel and today we did just that! Like River, Taylor found peace through cycling but cycling alone wasn't enough. I'll post an interview link in the comments for anyone who wants to know more about Taylor but I wanted to thank him for his advocacy and for being so public and open with his story. I wanted him to know we're proud of him for tackling the stigma - possibly the hardest challenge of all.
Also in the photo are our precious friends Lynn and Kurt Wilson who we met at Unbound last year because Lynn was wearing a t-shirt with the purple and teal prevention ribbon. I knew she had a story to share and that I needed to meet her. The Wilson's lost their son Lance (15) and they share their story through a memorial scholarship fund for students at Lance's high school.
Tomorrow, Taylor and Kurt both will compete in the 200 mile race at Unbound and you better believe we'll be cheering them on!

The Lance Project gave out a whopping 5 Scholarships last night! Christie Redford honored her son Austin Cline with a bonus scholarship to Jeremiah Kelley. Kristi Teegarden honored her son Logan LeBlanc with 2 bonus scholarships to Lily Dorr and Kayla Pointer. The Lance Wilson Memorial scholarships were given to Blake Weiand and Savannah Keen. We are so very proud of all of you. The biggest thank you of all goes oit to Tracy Resseguie ! The reason for Lance's love of choir, a mentor and advocate for students and most of all our friend and brother who continues to stand by us and fight for Lance's legacy. We love you Rez!

Met Alex today while riding LookOut Mountiain in Colorado. He is also riding/racing for to break the stigma. Lance is always with us.

While I was at Unbound Gravel this weekend, I meet a gentleman by chance who saw my TLP t-shirt with our website on it and was able to meet up. His name is Scott Waldrop and he lost his son River May 31st, 2023. Which happened to be the day we met up. He, like The Lance Project is putting on a ride in Louisiana for mental health awareness and su***de prevention. Go check out the website! They are doing some amazing things in honor of River.
