Peggy Dee Butterfield, beloved mother, grandmother, partner, sister, aunt, friend, and a second mom to so many, passed away peacefully at her home on September 8, 2026. She was born on April 13, 1949, in Dodge City, Kansas, to Wilbur and Leah Atkinson.
Peggy was a woman with a heart bigger than words could ever describe. She was one of the most nurturing, caring, and loving people anyone could have the privilege of knowing. Peggy had a special way of making people feel welcomed, loved, and cared for. She never hesitated to take someone under her wing when they needed a little extra love or guidance. Over the years, she made a lasting impact on countless lives and earned the cherished title of “Mom” from many who were not her children by blood, but were family in every way that mattered.
Peggy loved shopping, with a particular love for jewelry, and enjoyed trips to the casino. She also loved spending time outdoors, especially camping and swimming. More than anything, Peggy treasured the people in her life. Her friends and family meant the world to her, and she had a gift for creating memories and making those around her feel like they belonged.
Above all else, Peggy valued the close bond she shared with her son, Kable Butterfield Sr., and her grandson, Kable Butterfield Jr. The love she had for her family was immeasurable, and the memories she created with them will remain a treasured part of her legacy.
