We are Clay-Platte Family Medicine Clinic, PC, and we are the largest medical clinic in Platte County, Missouri. Our physicians are Board Certified Specialists in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. We are located in the Northland of Kansas City and serve patients from across Northwest Missouri and Northeast Kansas. The majority of our patients live in Clay, Platte, and Jackson Counties in Missouri and Wyandotte and Johnson Counties in Kansas.

For those with Diabetes, controlling your blood sugar can be easily achieved by creating the “Diabetes Plate”.

This consists of:
*Fill half your plate with non-starchy vegetables (like broccoli, carrots, or spinach)
*Fill one-quarter with lean protein (like chicken or turkey without the skin)
*Fill one-quarter with quality carbohydrate foods (like starchy vegetables, whole grains, low-fat dairy, or fruit)

Here are the recommendations broken down by age:

*Newborns (0–3 months): 14 to 17 hours per day, including naps.
*Infants (4–12 months): 12 to 16 hours per day, including naps.
*Toddlers (1–2 years): 11 to 14 hours per day, including naps.
*Preschoolers (3–5 years): 10 to 13 hours per day, including naps.
*School-age children (6–12 years): 9 to 12 hours per day.
*Teenagers (13–18 years): 8 to 10 hours per day.
*Adults (18–64 years): 7 to 9 hours per night.
*Older adults (65+ years): 7 to 8 hours per night.
