Today, we celebrate the everyday superheroes in our lives—dads, grandpas, uncles, stepdads, brothers, and all father figures who show up time and time again for the people they love.

They may not wear capes, but they carry heavy burdens, lend a helping hand, offer words of wisdom, fix what's broken, and provide endless love and support to their families and friends.

Our residents had a fin-tastic time creating their very own mini aquariums today! Using colorful sea creatures, decorations, and plenty of imagination, they designed a unique underwater world to display in their rooms. The best part? Today we recognize Juneteenth, a powerful day in American history that marks June 19, 1865—when the last enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas were finally informed of their freedom, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation.

We celebrate Juneteenth because it represents freedom, resilience, and the long struggle for justice and equality. It’s a reminder that progress has often been delayed, but never denied, and that the fight for true equality is ongoing.

It’s also a day to honor the lives, culture, and contributions of Black Americans—past and present—and to reflect on how history continues to shape our communities today.

Our staff took a well-deserved break to enjoy delicious tacos, lots of laughs, and great camaraderie. We are so grateful for the compassionate, dedicated caregivers who make a difference in the lives of our residents every single day.
