✨During Breastfeeding Month, we're celebrating the countless moments that happen one feeding at a time.

Breastfeeding isn't always easy. There are sleepless nights, cluster feedings, sore days, and moments when you wonder if you're doing enough. But with each feeding, you're providing comfort, nourishment, and helping your baby's immune system learn and grow.

For many babies, breastfeeding means:

πŸ’™ A familiar source of comfort when they're sick, tired, or overwhelmed.

πŸ›‘οΈ Antibodies that help protect them as their immune system develops.

πŸ“ˆ Nutrition that changes as they grow to meet their needs.

And for parents, it's a reminder that feeding your baby is about so much more than ounces. It's about connection, learning your baby's cues, and building confidence one day at a time.πŸ’•

Have questions about feeding your little one? Our pediatricians are always here to help.

Is Your Child Complaining of Ear Pain After Swimming? It Could Be Swimmer's Ear!πŸ‘‚

Swimmer's ear happens when water gets trapped in the ear canal, creating the perfect environment for bacteria to grow. Using cotton swabs or putting objects in the ear can also damage the ear canal and increase the risk of infection.

Watch for signs like:
πŸ’₯ Ear pain, especially when the ear is touched
πŸ‘‚ Itching inside the ear
πŸ’§ Drainage from the ear
πŸ”Š Muffled hearing

Swimmer's ear is treatable, and early care can help your child get back to enjoying summer quickly.

If your child is experiencing ear pain after swimming, don't wait. Our team is here to help!

😬 Found a tick on your child? Don't panic.

Ticks are common this time of year, but removing them the right way matters.

βœ”οΈ Use fine-tipped tweezers to grasp the tick close to the skin and pull straight out with steady pressure. Avoid twisting, crushing, or using home remedies like petroleum jelly, nail polish, or a lit match.

After removal:

🧼 Wash the area with soap and water.
🩹 Apply antibiotic ointment if recommended by your provider.
πŸ“· Save the tick in a sealed bag or container in case your child's provider needs to identify it.

Over the next few weeks, keep an eye out for:

β€’ A new rash (especially a bull's-eye or spreading red rash)
β€’ Fever πŸ€’
β€’ Flu-like symptoms

If the tick was attached for more than 24 hours, appears swollen, or you're unsure how long it was attached, it's a good idea to contact your child's healthcare provider.

The best prevention? βœ… Daily tick checks after playing outside, especially around wooded areas, tall grass, or parks.

Have questions about a tick bite? We're here to help. πŸ“² 816-792-1170
