As we step into August armchair travels through scenic Iceland, we thought it would be fun to have a scavenger hunt. A scavenger hunt is an interactive activity that can be enjoyed by friends of all ages. Participants are typically divided into teams and given a list of items to find within a certain timeframe. The goal is to gather all items and accomplish the tasks before time runs out. This makes it a fun race against the clock that encourages problem solving and collaboration! We are excited to learn more about Iceland as our month progresses.

An afternoon of Music Trivia in our Independent Living community never disappoints! 🎶🎤

From classic hits of the 1960s and 1970s to friendly competition, our residents brought their knowledge, teamwork, and plenty of laughter. Every song sparked joy, a little negotiation, and lots of memories—all set to the soundtrack of some of the greatest music ever made.

There were smiles, sing-alongs, and it was a close game to the very end! It's always amazing to see how music brings people together and keeps minds active while creating joyful moments.

Who would have guessed that a little music trivia could create so much fun? 💙🎵

Our "Monday Meet the Artist" program was a big hit! One of our residents brought her handmade dollhouses to share with us. We were excited to see her craft that included intricate furniture pieces and handmade stitched rugs. Residents were amazed by how many hours were spent to make such a beautiful hobby look effortless. Dollhouses serve as miniature time capsules, capturing architectural styles, interior design, and societal values across centuries. The resident also brought her beautiful 1940 paper dolls. Historically paper dolls were both toys and cultural artifacts. They reinforced ideals of beauty and femininity, while also encouraging storytelling, and role play. Each resident enjoyed a Monday trip down memory lane thanking the artist for sharing her talents.

Happy Hour was extra special as we celebrated the vibrant spirit of the Dubrovnik Carnival in our Senior Star Adventures Virtual Travel Program!

Our Independent Living Community came alive with music, singing, dancing, laughter, and wonderful memories. There is something truly magical about seeing everyone come together to celebrate tradition, enjoy each other's company, and simply have fun.

Opportunities like these are about so much more than entertainment. Singing, dancing, and connecting with friends help boost mood, encourage movement, stimulate memories, and foster a strong sense of belonging. Moments of joy shared in a caring community can make a meaningful difference in overall well-being.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make this celebration so memorable. Join us every Friday at 2:30pm for more afternoons filled with music, friendship, and smiles!
