Ginger came to us through our friends at Chain of Hope because her owner is currently experiencing financial and housing insecurity. Her owner needed help getting Ginger spayed, and we were able to jump in and help.
During her appointment, we discovered something we never would have known otherwise: Ginger had ehrlichia, a potentially serious and sometimes life-threatening tick-borne disease. She needed treatment immediatley.
Her owner wanted to care for Ginger, but after learning her diagnoses, she knew she couldn't provide the care Ginger needed. She wanted to do the right thing for Ginger and give her a chance at a safe, happy life.
So we said yes again.
While our outreach team worked to find Ginger somewhere safe to go, she hung out with our staff, getting all the love, cuddles, and attention she could handle!
Thankfully, our amazing friends at Chain of Hope had a spot open up and welcomed Ginger into their shelter with open arms!
Ginger's story is a reminder why affordable veterinary care is SO important. Because if our team hadn't said yes, Ginger may have never been diagnosed, never received the treatment she needed, and never had the chance to find the safe, loving future waiting for her.
