Post-bodywork results are in!

Right away, I noticed his max club speed increased by 10 mph.

After working on his thoracic rotation, we went back to the simulator and repeated the same test.

Top 5 averages from his drives:

Ball speed: up 5 mph
Carry distance: up 5 yards
Total distance: up 6 yards

The goal was to see if improving movement through the body would show up in the swing.

And the numbers moved.

Yesterday’s Plunge House collaboration was a success!

I posted up at .leawood with my chair and table, providing free chair massage and dynamic stretching alongside the mobile Plunge House trailer.

Perfect combo in my opinion.

Guests were able to get some targeted muscle work, loosen up, and then hop in the cold plunge to help support recovery and circulation.

Big thank you to Plunge House for partnering up! Looking forward to what’s ahead in the future.

Follow both .leawood and me so you don’t miss out on future events!

My client came in wanting to improve his thoracic rotation in hopes of adding more distance to his drive.

Before any bodywork, I assessed his thoracic rotation with a goniometer.

His starting numbers were:

Right rotation: 40°
Left rotation: 54°

He also mentioned he was dealing with some low back pain, which can sometimes show up when the body is trying to find rotation from areas that are not meant to take on all that stress.

During the session, we focused on opening up the hips and working through the muscles around the spine to help improve thoracic rotation and take some pressure off the low back.

After the session, we retested.

Right rotation: 66°
Left rotation: 60°

The biggest change was on the right side, where he gained 26° of thoracic rotation.

Next up: back to the driving simulator to test the drive.

A client reached out wanting to improve his thoracic rotation in hopes of adding more yards to his drive.

So we decided to test it

We started at the driving simulator, had him warm up, and collected his numbers from 20 drives. Then we went back to the studio for some targeted bodywork and increased his thoracic rotation
The next dav we went back and repeated the same test Same setup. Same process.

We took the top 5 averages and looked at ball speed, carry distance, and total distance.

All three went up.

This is the first post of the experiment, and 1'll be breaking down more of what we did, what changed, and what the numbers showed

Bodywork is not just about feeling better

It can help you move better, rotate better, and perform better

An easy stretch I like to do after each client.

Try it for 30–60 seconds and see how your body feels. Where do you feel a nice stretch at?
