One of the biggest misconceptions about prolapse is that pelvic floor therapy is just Kegels.

At West Pelvic Wellness, we take a whole-body, holistic approach because your pelvic floor does not work in isolation. Your breathing, posture, core, movement patterns, nervous system, and daily habits all play a role in how you feel and function.

That’s why every treatment plan is personalized to support your body, your goals, and your life.

When most moms learn they have prolapse, they’re told one thing:
👉 “Do your Kegels.”
But there is more to the story.

As holistic pelvic floor PTs, we know that pelvic organ support is influenced by how your entire body moves, breathes, and manages pressure—not just your pelvic floor muscles.

Here are 5 things we often address when helping moms manage prolapse symptoms:
✨ 1. Constipation & bowel habits
Straining increases downward pressure on the pelvic floor. Optimizing bowel movements can make a huge difference.
✨ 2. Posture & alignment
Your rib cage, pelvis, and spine work together to help manage pressure throughout the day.
✨ 3. Hip & glute strength
Strong hips provide support and stability that can reduce strain on the pelvic floor.
✨ 4. Thoracic spine & rib cage mobility
Better mobility often leads to better breathing mechanics and pressure management.
✨ 5. Foot & ankle mobility and strength
Your foundation matters. The way you interact with the ground influences movement all the way up the chain.

The goal isn’t to “hold everything up” by squeezing harder.
It’s to create a body that manages pressure efficiently so your pelvic floor doesn’t have to do all the work.

✨ Healing isn't a one-size-fits-all journey.

At West Pelvic Wellness, every woman who walks through our doors has a different story, different goals, and different challenges. Some are preparing for birth. Some are recovering postpartum. Some are navigating pelvic pain, prolapse, bladder symptoms, or changes during perimenopause.

While every treatment plan is individualized, we guide our clients through the same proven 5-Step Method designed to help them achieve lasting results—not just temporary symptom relief.

Why? Because pelvic floor symptoms never exist in isolation.

Your breathing patterns, posture, movement habits, strength, nervous system, lifestyle, stress levels, nutrition and daily routines all play a role in how your body functions and heals.

That's what makes our approach different.

We don't just focus on the pelvic floor—we look at the whole person.

✔️ We uncover the root causes.
✔️ We create a personalized roadmap.
✔️ We teach you how to move with confidence.
✔️ We build strength and resilience.
✔️ We empower you with the tools to maintain your results long-term.

No cookie-cutter exercises.
No endless Kegels.
No quick fixes.

Just thoughtful, holistic care designed around YOU.

Because our goal isn't simply to help you feel better today—it's to help you build a foundation for lifelong pelvic health.

💛 Which step of your healing journey resonates with you most?

POV: You thought prolapse rehab meant 100 Kegels a day. 😅

Us: shows rib cage, breathing, hips, posture, bowel habits, and strength training 🤯

If you’ve been told that healing prolapse is all about doing more Kegels… you’re not alone.

One of the biggest myths we see is that prolapse is simply a “weak pelvic floor” problem.

The truth? Your pelvic floor doesn’t function in isolation.

As holistic pelvic floor physical therapists, we look at the entire system that influences pressure, support, and movement throughout your body.

✨ Rib cage mobility and shoulder stability
✨ Breathing patterns and core coordination
✨ Hip and glute strength
✨ Posture during daily activities
✨ Bowel and defecation dynamics
✨ Movement strategies for lifting, exercising, and caring for your family

Because pressure management doesn’t start with the pelvic floor—it starts with how your entire body manages and distributes force.

Sometimes a pelvic floor that’s working too hard can be just as problematic as one that’s not contributing enough.

That’s why true prolapse rehabilitation is rarely about squeezing harder. It’s about restoring balance, coordination, strength, and confidence throughout the whole body.

You deserve more than generic advice. You deserve a plan that looks at the root cause.

Have you ever been told to “just do Kegels” for prolapse? Tell us below. 👇

Many women assume these symptoms are just part of motherhood or aging.

They're common, but they're not something you should ignore.

The earlier you seek support, the more options you often have available.

If any of these sound familiar, a pelvic floor assessment can help determine what's going on and what next steps make sense.
