A writing system created so more people could have a voice. 🇰🇷
Every year on October 9, South Korea celebrates Hangeul Day (한글날), a national holiday honoring Hangeul, the Korean writing system.
Created during the reign of King Sejong the Great in the 15th century, Hangeul was designed to make reading and writing more accessible to ordinary people. And centuries later, its thoughtful design remains one of the things that makes it so fascinating.
This Hangeul Day, we’re inviting you to learn a little about the writing system behind the Korean language and then try it for yourself. ✨

Ever wondered what your name might look like in Hangeul?
Ask our AI Guide, Jade, or one of our Korean staff members to help you find a Hangeul spelling for your name. Then write it on your own bookmark, decorate it with Spa World stickers, and take home a little piece of your day with us.
Whether Hangeul is already familiar to you or today is the first time you’ve looked closely at its letters, we hope you’ll leave knowing something you didn’t before.
Learn it. Write it. Make it yours.
한글날을 축하합니다! 🇰🇷
