💙 It's Never Easy Saying Goodbye 💙

One of the most rewarding—and emotional—parts of working in ABA is watching a child graduate the program.

We celebrate every milestone: first words, first friendships, first successful transitions, first moments of independence. We cheer through the challenges, celebrate the victories, and become part of each family's journey.

When it's time for a child to graduate, it's a bittersweet moment. While we'll miss the smiles, high-fives, and daily interactions, our hearts are full knowing they have gained the skills and confidence to take on their next adventure.

Graduation isn't the end—it's a testament to the child's hard work, their family's dedication, and the commitment of an incredible team working together toward meaningful progress.

The Fulshear Police Department invites you to attend a free community presentation to learn about Project Lifesaver and the Fort Bend County Take Me Home Program, two valuable resources designed to help protect some of our community's most vulnerable residents.

This informative class will be presented by Michael Kahlenberg, Coordinator of Senior Services & Project Lifesaver for the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office.

If you have a loved one, family member, friend, or know someone who is prone to wandering because of Autism, Alzheimer's disease, Dementia, or another cognitive condition, this presentation is for you.

Project Lifesaver is a free program offered through the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office. Eligible participants can sign up to receive a waterproof wrist or ankle transmitter that emits a unique radio frequency. If the individual wanders from safety, specially trained first responders use specialized tracking equipment to quickly locate them, often within minutes.

Unlike a GPS device, Project Lifesaver is designed specifically for emergency response. Once enrolled, important information such as a current photograph, medical information, likes and dislikes, and places the individual may be drawn to is securely maintained so first responders have the information they need to bring them home safely.

You will also learn about the Fort Bend County Take Me Home Program, a free, secure registry that allows individuals with cognitive impairments, developmental disabilities, autism, Alzheimer's disease, dementia, or other medical conditions to voluntarily provide emergency contact information, physical descriptions, photographs, communication preferences, and other important details. If an enrolled individual becomes lost, disoriented, or has an encounter with first responders, this information can help deputies and officers quickly identify them, communicate more effectively, and reunite them with their loved ones.

Whether you are a caregiver, family member, neighbor, educator, or simply want to learn more about these life-saving programs, we encourage you to attend.

⏰ Scholarship Application Reminder! ⏰

The deadline to apply for a F.A.C.E.S. ABA Therapy Scholarship is Sunday, July 5.

Applications received by the deadline will be reviewed by the F.A.C.E.S. Board of Directors at our August 11 Board Meeting.

If your family is seeking financial assistance for Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy, don't wait! Be sure to submit your completed application and all required documentation before the deadline.

Last night, our officers encountered a young man with disabilities near a lake in our community. He was unable to tell us where he lived, and our immediate priority became ensuring his safety and finding his family. After working through the night and following up on several leads, we were eventually able to locate his home and reunite him with his loved ones.

While the story had a happy ending, it highlighted something important: very few families in our area are registered in the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office Take Me Home Program.

The Take Me Home Program is a free, voluntary service designed to assist individuals who may have difficulty communicating, identifying themselves, or who are at risk of becoming disoriented or wandering. This includes individuals with conditions such as Autism, Alzheimer's Disease, Dementia, Down Syndrome, and other cognitive impairments.

The program utilizes a secure database containing a current photograph, demographic information, and emergency caregiver contacts. If law enforcement encounters someone who cannot communicate where they live, officers can quickly search the database using a name or physical description and help reunite that individual with their family. The system can also assist if a loved one goes missing by immediately providing officers with critical information and a current photograph.

Who is eligible?
Fort Bend County residents with a cognitive impairment or disability that may affect their ability to communicate and who may be at risk of wandering.

Participation is completely voluntary, and all information is kept confidential.

If you have a family member, friend, or loved one who may benefit from this program, we strongly encourage you to enroll them today. It could make all the difference during an emergency.

Now Enrolling for our Preschool Pals Program. Sessions begin 6/01/2026. Accepting ages 3 - 5 years old. 1:1 Child-led ABA therapy with an emphasis on school readiness for early learners.

Objectives:
Communication, Social Skills, Group Participation, Self-Help Skills, Direction Following, Play Skills, Behavior Reduction

Each child will still have individual goals and 1:1 care. Teaching format will be in a small group setting to help with generalization into school settings.

Insurance Accepted:
Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Aetna, United Healthcare. (Medicaid pending)
