When I tell my doula clients to hydrate, this is what I mean 🍉
Watermelon juice is the queen! You need electrolytes on top of just drinking regular water 💧 H2O and H3O.

This work is not easy. It challenges you. It requires compassion beyond your own capabilities. It requires humility and a heart like Christ. I need God every step of the way. And I’m not ashamed to say that.

Romans 8:28 says, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose”.

There was this moment that didn’t get caught on camera, and we laughed so hard. I truly am thankful to God for the clients that I get to serve.

Prenatal visits are all about teaching and training. I like to get better aquainted with my clients and answer any questions that they may have. As first time parents, it’s important to know as much as possible in the time leading up to labor and birth.

Having a good doula means not only being supported at your birth, but in the sacred times before and after baby is born.

What I thought was personal is in fact, global! We’re boldly bringing Christ back into the center of birthwork as ambassadors. As intercessors. And as this chosen by God to do this work!!

This isn’t just a tshirt. It’s a MOVEmen of God! 🤍🤍🤍

July was a dream. We had some ups and downs, but I’m grateful for it all. I got to meet some of my new doula clients and really pour into them. I never take for granted that y’all choose me!

I finished my summer semester this week with A’s in both courses even though one of them tried to take me out and then cremate me 😂. I thank God that I’m done! Hear me!!!!

I learned so much in clinic with my midwife DeShaun Taylor, LM, CPM, MA-MCHS!! To become a competent midwife, you really have to take your time and go above and beyond to learn what’s needed in your community. This work is more than birth. Textbooks don’t teach everything. I’ve learned that you have to be responsible for your own learning. And going forward, I intend to do just that.

Other than that, I ate good, I moved my body. And I loved on people and was loved back.

I’m so excited for August and all the babies being born! Love y’all. 🧡🧡🧡

While we know that labor and childbirth can be challenging, and things don’t always go as planned, being prepared always helps. Knowing what to expect, when to contact your doula and healthcare provider, what to lookout for and most importantly having a partner who’s just as informed makes a huge difference in how a mother labors. When a mama feels like she’s in control, she’s more likely to experience less anxiety which can help her cope well.

As a Doula, I do my best to educate my clients based on real life scenarios and always be there for them. No question is too minor. Having a baby is a big deal. And it is my hope, that all mamas get to experience this kind of support in pregnancy and postpartum.

I am not just a Doula, I am a watchman and an intercessor. Every client is covered in prayer. I don’t take this work lightly and I thank God that for the mantle.

Looking for a Doula that’s on fire for Jesus, that will listen to you, educate you and best of all intercede on your behalf? I’d love to discuss your birth plans. Let’s chat!

Teaching husbands how to support their wives during labor is quite literally my favorite thing to do as a Doula. Watching them as they navigate this new world of becoming a father is one of the sweetest things. For first time parents, these are some of the last moments they’ll share before their world changes forever. What a gift.

I pray this blesses someone that may be going through it while navigating the newborn trenches of postpartum.

Veteran mamas, if you’re reading this, leave some encouragement in the comments. New mama’s, feel free to share your heart. This is a safe space.
