AM Authentically Me offers herbal teas, tinctures, natural wellness products, energy healing, workshops & wellness gatherings - as a Holistic Health and Wellness Space to support the connection of mind, body & soul. I try my best to be the most authentic and unapologetic version of myself, for them. I desire to show them how being your true and authentic self will attract the people, places and things that are meant to be in your life. I want them to understand that everyone has their own unique life journey, and it is anything BUT a linear path upwards. With that being said, here is a peak into the rollercoaster of my own journey! From an early age I have always felt a connection with nature, Mother Earth, and been in awe of the beauty she delivers. Whether it is the magic of the leaves changing in Autumn or the absolute stunning silence of a winter’s snow falling, it stops me in my tracks every time. I also knew at an early age that I wanted to help people, in some way. My education and professional experience has been the mental health field. I have been in this field about a decade working with many different populations in many different settings. On a personal level - to get a little vulnerable - I have experienced my own mental health struggles - such as depression, anxiety, trauma, life changing transitions, burnout, and abuse. In both my professional career and personal life experiences, my clients and myself have run into two common questions:
1- What else is out there to help someone heal besides going to a medical professional and be given a medication?
2- What happens when talk therapy isn’t an option, a feeling of hitting a plateau occurs, or talk therapy just isn’t a good fit? In 2020, this was a daily question and caused a “crossroads” for me - in my life and professional career. I kept wondering, what is out there that doesn’t involve medication and can also help heal on the inside, heal the WHOLE person - mind, body and spirit? Are there more natural options? I know the body has an innate ability to heal itself, but how? If the goal was to heal, get to the root of the cause, and find a new “normal”, then there has to be alternative health and healing options out there… this can’t be it. Now, this is my own personal journey. I want to make it clear that if you are taking medications and they help you in any way on your healing journey, that is great! I am not here to judge or pass on my own preferences. Be authentically YOU! This is just my story, me being authentically me. In order to find some answers, I took it upon myself to look into holistic healing methods such as breathwork, yoga, meditation, herbalism, essential oils, energy work - like reiki and sound healing. I dove into the research, obtained certifications, and started with advice from friends in the medical field who were on this same journey about herbs, vitamins, plants, sources from nature that could help with the ailments myself and my clients were experiencing. I was shocked by all the possibilities out there for natural healing… for the mind, body and spirit! Yet, why are these not more accessible and what can I do to make them more accessible? I knew I needed to do the hard work, the research, the trial and error. So, I enrolled in a graduate program for Holistic Health Studies to learn even more about alternative healing and how to help people gain access and knowledge to those forms of healing. Along this journey I found my purpose: to create access and help educate others who are asking the same questions myself and my clients are, who want more options for their own unique healing journeys. And so… AM Authentically Me was created. It’s my way to change the approach to mental health and holistic healing. To give YOU the opportunity to take control of your own healing journey and experience healing in a more WHOLE-istic way.
