Happy Friday, everyone!
Good luck to everyone venturing out this weekend! The bite has been phenomenal across the Winnebago system!
I’ve fished everywhere from Fremont to Winneconne lately. We’ve been picking up some walleyes in the Wolf River, and with the current picking up, that bite should only continue to get better!
Down around Winneconne, dragging jigs has been putting walleyes in the boat along with a mixed bag of perch and bluegills. Pulling flies has also been productive for white bass. Pay attention to the shallower water! When those white bass move in, you can have an absolute blast catching them almost every cast!
Oshkosh to Winneconne has also been great using many of the same tactics. Don’t be afraid to try new areas, and don’t be afraid to get away from the groups of boats—especially when you don’t see them catching anything!
Lake Winnebago has probably been my favorite lately because you never know what you’re going to catch. We’ve been getting walleyes on blades, white bass on blades, and perch along the reef edges.
I stopped in to see Bill at Rippn-LipsTackle Company this morning, and he’s stocked up for the weekend with fresh minnows and crawlers to get you out on the water!
Good luck to everyone heading out this weekend, be safe, and GO CATCH ’EM!
If you’re looking to get out and put some fish in the boat, shoot me a message or give me a call for available dates!
