When life feels overwhelming, grounding can help bring you back to the present moment instead of getting lost in everything that's on your to do list.

Grounding helps calm your nervous system, reduce anxiety, and create a sense of stability when your mind is racing ahead.

👅 1 thing you can taste

You don't have to tackle the whole week today. Just focus on the next right step.

Christina had the opportunity to volunteer at Kearney Middle School Career Day this week and talk with 6th graders about what it’s like being a therapist. 💛

The students had great questions and were so engaged! We love getting to support mental health awareness and encourage kids to consider the possibility of becoming a therapist as they start thinking about their future careers!

SLOW TRAFFIC ALERT ON 92 HWY 🚨

92 Hwy will be down to one lane in each direction at the Railroad tracks between 33 Hwy and Platte Clay Way (by Waters Hardware).

The Railroad Company is completing repairs to the tracks for the majority of the day. It should be back fully open by later tonight.

You can’t keep doing the same things and expect your life to feel different.

We see this a lot. It's human nature to try to stick to what's comfortable.

People know something isn’t working…
but they keep responding the same way
staying in the same patterns
avoiding the same things

And then feel frustrated that nothing is changing.

At some point, something has to shift.

Not perfectly. Not all at once.
But something.

A conversation you’ve been avoiding.
A boundary you’ve been putting off.
Actually asking for help instead of pushing through.

That’s where change starts.

Connected Families Counseling was honored to both sponsor and participate in the recent Poverty Simulation Event in partnership with the Kearney Food Pantry and the Kearney Family Foundation.

This experience gave a small glimpse into the daily realities many families in poverty face. Most were legitimately scrambling to get their tasks done. We overheard many people saying during the simulation how overwhelmed they felt while trying to juggle responsibilities like going to work, paying utilities, buying groceries etc.

We were proud to help sponsor this event and support greater awareness in our community. Thanks also to the other sponsors below who helped make it possible!
