Every individual has the right to self progression within the areas of independence, individual expression, vocation, socialization, and leisure. About our Program

CARE NH offers a premium day habilitation program that takes place at our on site facility in Keene NH and in the Monadnock area community. Program participants choose their individual goals to develop skills in the areas of self help, daily living skills, social skills,
communication, health and wellness and prevocational skills. Care New Hampshire's day programs are conducted in small groups giving the individual an environment to participate with peers in a social setting. About Us

Care New Hampshire is owned and operated by Michael and Shannen Kozlowski, a husband-wife team that together have over 40 years of providing psychological, behavioral and educational services for individuals with developmental disabilities. Michael is a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist and retired Board Certified Behavior Analyst with 25 years developing therapeutic programs for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. Shannen has provided services for children and adults for over 20 years. She has owned and operated Colorado Family Enrichment and Behavior Therapies for 8 years, providing premium small group day habilitation programs and residential services for a limited number of families-keeping each program small in order to provide maximum individual choice. Michael and Shannen now live in Peterborough, New Hampshire with their two teenage children.

🌊☀️ THE MOMENTS BETWEEN THE WAVES ☀️🌊

We’ve shared some of our amazing Surfing Superstars, but honestly, some of the best memories from this day happened in all of those little moments in between the waves. 💙🏄‍♀️

The sandy toes, salty hair, soaking up the sunshine, cheering on friends, playing in the water, laughing on the beach, watching each other surf, and simply getting to spend an incredible day together by the ocean. 🌊☀️🤙

Days like this are such a great reminder that an adventure doesn’t have to be about just one activity. It’s about the whole experience—trying something new, spending time with friends, moving our bodies, enjoying the outdoors, encouraging one another, and making memories together. 💙

There were brave moments. There were silly moments. There were big waves and little waves. There were wipeouts, celebrations, laughs, friendships, and plenty of time just enjoying everything the beach had to offer. 🏄‍♀️🌊⭐

And sometimes, those little moments are the ones that end up meaning the most.

A HUGE thank-you to Cinnamon Rainbows and all of their incredible volunteers for giving our group this opportunity and for bringing so much patience, encouragement, and positive energy to the day. You helped make everyone feel welcome, supported, and excited to get out there and give surfing a try! 🏄‍♂️💙🌊

And another very special thank-you and photo credit to Kaili Kozlowski 📸 for capturing not only the surfing, but all of these beautiful little moments in between. These photos gave us a way to hold onto the smiles, friendships, adventures, and memories long after we left the beach.

We came for the surfing… but we left with so much more. 💙

🌊⭐ SURFING SUPERSTARS ⭐🌊

Surf’s up, Superstars! 🏄‍♀️🏄‍♂️🤙💙

We are SO excited to start sharing some of our very own Surfing Superstars! These are the moments when our surfers got out there, took on those waves, challenged themselves, and showed us just how much fun trying something new can be! 🌊✨

There is something incredibly special about having the opportunity to step outside of your comfort zone, laugh, build confidence, make memories, and move your body in a completely new and creative way — all at the same time.

We talk a lot about the importance of movement, but physical activity doesn't always have to look like going to the gym, following a workout, or taking a walk. Sometimes movement looks like paddling through the ocean, balancing on a surfboard, swimming, dancing, climbing, playing, or simply finding a new and exciting way to MOVE! ☀️🌊💪

That's one of the things we love most about days like this. Movement can be an adventure. It can be social. It can be silly. It can challenge us. It can help us discover abilities we didn't even know we had. And most importantly, it can be FUN! 💙

Our surfers showed so much courage getting out there and giving something new a try. Some stood tall, some caught waves, some took a tumble, some surprised themselves — and every single person had their own experience and their own reason to be proud. 🌟

✨ “Adventure begins the moment you decide to try.”
🌊 “Some memories are made one wave at a time.”
⭐ “Life is better when you're making waves.”
🤙 “Catch waves, not worries.”
🏄‍♀️ And sometimes… superheroes wear wetsuits! 💙

Because at the end of the day, it's not really about who stood the longest or who caught the biggest wave. It's about being willing to TRY. It's about courage, confidence, independence, connection, movement, laughter, and that incredible feeling of realizing:

“HEY… I DID THAT!” 🌊🙌⭐

A HUGE thank-you to Dave and all of the incredible volunteers who gave their time, patience, encouragement, and energy to make this experience possible. From helping everyone feel comfortable and safe to getting them onto their boards and cheering them on through every wave, you helped create an experience our group will remember for a very long time. 🏄‍♀️🌊💙

It can be about independence.
It can be about connection.
It can be about JOY.
And sometimes… it can be about grabbing a surfboard and seeing where the next wave takes you. 🌊🏄‍♀️✨

🏅💚 Special Olympics 2026! 💚🏅

Care New Hampshire was so fortunate to have the opportunity to volunteer with the Special Olympics this year, and what an incredible experience it was!

We had an absolute blast getting to know everyone, cheering on the athletes, and doing our part by passing out plenty of cold drinks and freeze pops to help everyone cool down throughout the day. ☀️🧊

But the best part was getting to witness so many amazing athletes show up, give it their all, and absolutely KICK BUTT! 💪🏆 We are so proud of every athlete who competed. The determination, excitement, sportsmanship, and support we saw throughout the day were truly inspiring.

Experiences like this are exactly why we love being involved in our community. Volunteering gives us the opportunity to contribute, build new relationships, practice teamwork, and be part of something bigger than ourselves.

A huge thank you to the Special Olympics, all of the volunteers, families, supporters, and especially the incredible athletes for allowing us to be part of such a special day. We can't wait for the next opportunity! ❤️🏅

🌿 Community Connections at Thistle Dew Farms! 🐦💚

We have absolutely LOVED spending time with Renee at Thistle Dew Farms! From getting up close with the emus to learning all about their care, their routines, and what it takes to keep them happy and healthy, every visit has been such a unique experience for our group.

One of the things we value most is creating meaningful connections within our community—and Renee has been so welcoming, patient, and willing to share her knowledge with us. We are incredibly thankful that our relationship with Thistle Dew Farms is growing, and we’re excited to begin exploring volunteer opportunities with Renee at the farm! 🙌

Volunteering gives the people we support an opportunity to build new skills, develop responsibility, contribute to their community, and experience the pride that comes from being a part of something meaningful. And getting to do all of that while spending time with some pretty amazing emus makes it even better! 🐦❤️

A huge THANK YOU to Renee and Thistle Dew Farms for welcoming us and giving our group such a wonderful experience.
