If you are passionate about being a grateful patriot and supporting Green Berets, check out Special Forces Foundation and become a regular donor.

While I’m passionate about serving green berets and their families, I want to make it very clear that I’m not a beret nor have I served in the US military. I’m a grateful patriot and I like to train, but that’s the extent of it.

Not every headache starts in your head.
Some of the most stubborn ones, including many that get called migraines, start in the neck. Stiff joints in the upper neck irritate nearby nerves, tight muscles at the base of the skull send pain up toward the temple and behind the eye, and the cycle keeps feeding itself. It's called a cervicogenic headache.
Clues yours may be coming from your neck: it starts at the base of your skull, it flares after a long day at a screen or behind the wheel, turning your head makes it worse, or your neck feels stiff before the pain shows up.
Dr. Nelson: "When the joints move right, the muscles let go, and the nerves calm down, your body gets to do what God designed it to do: heal. That's why I look at the whole chain, not just the sore spot."
One patient who had resigned herself to migraines once or twice a week told us she'd gone two weeks without one after just a handful of visits. Results vary, but changes like that are common here.
Sudden, severe, or unusual headaches need medical attention right away.
Free workshop: Thursday, October 29, 6:30 PM. Dr. Nelson shows you how neck problems cause headaches, hand numbness, and shoulder pain, and what you can start doing at home. Everyone who attends gets a free gift. RSVP: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/your-neck-is-the-source-headaches-hand-numbness-shoulder-pain-keller-tickets-2003044232219?aff=oddtdtcreator

Have you ever left a healthcare appointment knowing what you were told to do, but not really understanding why?
We don’t want that experience at Advocate Wellness.
One of the things patients consistently mention in reviews is that Dr. Nelson takes time to explain what he is finding and what he is doing. That matters because good care should make you more informed about your body—not more dependent on confusing terminology.
After your examination, we’ll walk through the findings in plain English. We want you to understand what appears to be moving poorly, what may be irritated, what seems to be contributing to your symptoms, and why we’re recommending a particular approach. If we use chiropractic adjustments, myofascial therapy, laser therapy, exercises, or another tool, you should know what role each one is intended to play.
That also means questions are welcome. If something doesn’t make sense, ask. If you’re uncertain about a recommendation, we can talk through it. If there are multiple reasonable options, we’ll discuss them.
Our goal is not to impress you with complicated language. It’s to give you useful information so you can make good decisions about your health.
Patients often describe the office as thorough, transparent, professional, and personal. Those words fit the kind of experience we’re trying to build.
If you’re looking for a chiropractor in Keller or North Fort Worth who will explain the “why” behind your care, we’d be glad to meet you.

Why does the first examination at Advocate Wellness tend to be more thorough than what some patients are used to?
Because the adjustment is only as useful as the information guiding it.
Two people can walk in with “neck pain” and have very different problems. One may have a stiff joint and tight muscles. Another may have nerve irritation, an old injury, poor movement, headaches, weakness, or symptoms that suggest we need to look beyond a routine adjustment. The same is true for low back pain, shoulder pain, sciatica, migraines, and many of the more complicated cases we see.
That’s why the first visit may include orthopedic testing, neurological screening, muscular assessment, movement testing, and a broader look at how your nervous system is functioning. Patients regularly use words like “thorough” when describing their experience here, and several have specifically mentioned appreciating how much time was spent finding the actual issue instead of jumping straight into generic treatment.
The goal isn’t to perform tests for the sake of testing. It’s to answer three questions: What seems to be wrong? Is this something we can reasonably help? And what approach gives us the best chance of getting a meaningful result?
If you’re looking for thoughtful, individualized chiropractic care in Keller or North Fort Worth, your first visit at Advocate Wellness starts with understanding the problem—not guessing at it.

When someone comes to Advocate Wellness with a complicated problem, the first thing we want is the whole story.
Where did it start? What was happening when it began? Has it changed over time? What treatments have you already tried? What movements make it worse? What helps? Are you sleeping differently because of it? Has it changed your workouts, your workday, or what you can do with your family?
Those details matter. One of the phrases that shows up again and again in our patient reviews is that Dr. Nelson “listens.” Patients also describe the care as thorough, compassionate, transparent, and different from a commercialized or quick chiropractic visit. We’re proud of that, because listening isn’t just bedside manner—it helps us make better decisions.
Your symptoms are part of the picture, but they’re not the entire picture. A shoulder problem may involve the neck, ribs, muscles, nerves, or movement patterns. Back pain can be influenced by hips, old injuries, weakness, or irritated tissue. The examination helps us sort through those possibilities instead of treating everything the same way.
You don’t need to arrive knowing exactly what is wrong or what treatment you need. That’s part of our job.
If you’ve been looking for a chiropractor in Keller or North Fort Worth who will actually hear the whole story before making recommendations, we’d be glad to help.
The goal is clarity before care.

We care about how the appointment feels:

One of the most common things patients tell us after visiting Advocate Wellness is that they didn’t feel rushed. That may sound like a small thing, but when you’ve been hurting for months or years, it matters.
A quick adjustment can be useful for a simple problem. But if you’re dealing with recurring neck or back pain, headaches, nerve symptoms, old injuries, chronic tension, or several things happening at once, five minutes usually isn’t enough time to understand the whole story.
At Advocate Wellness, appointments are intentionally more personal. We want enough time to listen, examine what is actually happening, explain what we find, and make thoughtful decisions about care. Patients have described Dr. Nelson as thorough, understanding, professional, and someone who “really listens.” That is exactly the experience we want to create.
Sometimes the answer is an adjustment. Sometimes we need to address irritated muscles, joints, nerves, movement patterns, or recovery at the same time. And sometimes the most helpful thing we can do is tell you that something needs a different kind of provider.
Empathy means hearing what you’re dealing with. Truth means being straightforward about what we find. Results mean keeping the focus on helping you function better.
If you want a more personal chiropractic experience in Keller or North Fort Worth, Advocate Wellness is here when you’re ready.
