Izzy has been part of our clinic family since opening day. From supporting our patients to assisting our medical assistants, front desk, and provider, she has played an essential role in keeping our clinic running smoothly every single day.

Throughout multiple transitions, Izzy has consistently stepped up, taken on extra responsibilities, and been a dependable team member our entire staff could count on.
Her positive attitude, compassion, and contagious energy have made a lasting impact on our patients and our team.

Now, Izzy is leaving the clinic and headed to college. While it won’t be the same without her, we’re so excited to watch her begin this next chapter.

🩺Laura Thomas is a board-certified family nurse practitioner and the founder of Hometown Health and Wellness. Born and raised locally, Laura is honored to care for the community that shaped her.

With over 16 years of experience in the medical field, Laura holds an additional certification in functional medicine along with advanced training in weight management and bioidentical hormone replacement therapy. She earned her nursing degree from UTHealth Houston and completed her Family Nurse Practitioner training with honors from Texas Woman’s University.

Known for her warm, easygoing style, Laura meets patients where they are, whether they need quick problem-focused care or want to explore root causes of health concerns. She’s a great listener who believes a little laughter combined with compassionate care and sound clinical judgment is often the best medicine.

Outside of work, Laura enjoys life as a wife and mom of three and a dog mom to two rescues and one very spoiled pug. Amid the beautiful chaos of raising a family, she finds joy in life’s small pleasures. In her downtime, you’ll find her brunching with friends, curled up with a favorite book and a strong cup of coffee, or happily lost in a Netflix binge.
