🏔️ Historic news for Alaska healthcare!

As a PA-owned practice, we couldn’t be more excited to celebrate the signing of SB 89 into law.

For decades, Alaska PAs have provided high-quality care in communities across our state. SB 89 modernizes our practice laws by transitioning from a supervision model to a collaboration model, recognizing the education, training, and clinical judgment of Physician Associates while maintaining accountability through the Alaska State Medical Board.

This legislation removes outdated barriers and allows PAs to better serve patients—especially in communities where access to healthcare is limited.

This is a tremendous win for patients, providers, and the future of healthcare in Alaska.

Thank you to the Alaska Academy of PAs, Representative Andrew Gray, Governor Mike Dunleavy, and everyone who worked tirelessly to make this historic legislation a reality.

Who knew moving this much dirt could be considered fun? 😅🌸

After a lot of digging, hauling, raking, and probably a few sore muscles, our new flower bed is finally starting to take shape. It’s a lot of work, but we’re excited to keep improving Odyssey and creating a space that’s welcoming, beautiful, and reflects the pride we take in caring for our community.

We’re adding a little more color around Odyssey, and we couldn’t be happier with how it looks. Stay tuned for more beautiful updates as we continue sprucing things up for our patients and community!

A special thank you to Fireweed Greenhouse for the absolutely gorgeous flower baskets. Your hard work and talent help make the Kenai Peninsula a little brighter every summer.

This Memorial Day, we pause to honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice — and the sacrifice carried by their families — should never be forgotten.

Freedom is not free. It was earned through courage, duty, and lives willingly laid down for something greater than themselves.

No matter our differences, today is a reminder that we are all Americans first. And despite the challenges and divisions we may face, we still believe this is the greatest country on earth.

From all of us at Odyssey Family Practice, thank you to those who served, those we lost, and the families who continue to carry their legacy forward.

May we remember. May we honor. May we never forget.

Happy Mother’s Day to the women who somehow do it all…
The snack finder.
The appointment scheduler.
The midnight fever checker.
The homework helper.
The ride home.
The “everything is going to be okay” person.

Moms carry so much that often goes unseen — the stress, the sacrifice, the worry, the endless giving — usually while making it look effortless. And somehow, they still show up with love, strength, and grace day after day.

Honestly, moms deserve more than just one day of recognition. But today especially, we celebrate you.

Thank you for the countless little things that are actually the biggest things.
Thank you for the care you give your families, your kids, your communities, and everyone around you.

Today we celebrate the hope, grace, and new life that Easter brings.
