When therapy is excluded from a state's Medicaid PDPM model, some facilities assume the service just doesn't get provided. Medicare Part B says otherwise.

For the 63-77% of nursing home residents who are dual-eligible, Medicare Part B remains a viable reimbursement pathway for medically necessary therapy. But capturing it requires standardized assessments, objective documentation, and a clinical team that knows what to look for, including the gradual functional declines that don't announce themselves.
