With invasive surgery, it's usually performed by cutting or puncturing the skin or by inserting instruments into the body. This is commonly referred to as "open surgery". Due to the large incision, the patient will have a visible scar and their stay in the hospital will also be longer. In minimally invasive surgery, doctors use a variety of techniques to operate with less damage to the body than with open surgery. This procedure is performed through tiny incisions instead of a large opening. Because the surgeon will make smaller incisions, the patient will likely have a quicker recovery time and less pain than traditional open surgery but with most of the same benefits as traditional surgery. An example of minimally invasive procedures would be Morpheus8, Bodytite and Facetite by InMode.
