Friendly reminder to unclench your jaw!
Oral tension doesn’t just affect your mouth, and when it’s left unreleased, it starts to affect the shape of your face and can create or exacerbate signs of aging (in addition to the more well-known symptoms like headaches, constant neck and shoulder tension, jaw pain/TMJ, even staying stuck in nervous system dysregulation). Craniosacral Fasical Therapy (CFT) is such a powerful remedy!
Another element of jaw work is the emotional release because SO much stress is held there. I’m sure many of you by now have seen the viral LeAnn Rimes jaw release video…not every session is that intense, but I have had patients who had similar reactions and felt so much lighter afterwards. One session is a great start for that initial relief, and several sessions can be impactful enough to actually help retrain your patterns so that you clench less.
