Meet Froggy ! 💙
After a fall at home left Roberta, affectionately known as "Froggy" with a broken leg and broken arm, she came to Harbor Hill Center needing significant help with everyday activities. At first, she felt nervous about therapy and would get lightheaded when trying new things.
But Froggy didn’t let those challenges stop her.
With encouragement from her therapy team and plenty of hard work, she went from needing a lift to get out of bed to walking with a walker, then a cane, and eventually walking around her room without any equipment. She regained her ability to manage stairs and learned new strategies for getting in and out of a car, all in preparation to return home.
Her journey wasn’t always easy. She experienced complications with her arm along the way, but she continued working toward her goals and finding ways to adapt.
Froggy credits her therapy team with helping her push through those early challenges. “I stopped feeling sorry for myself and decided that therapists were right and just did it.”
Her therapists even found ways to make therapy feel like a game, keeping her challenged, motivated, and having fun along the way.
We’re incredibly proud of Froggy’s determination, competitive spirit, and incredible progress. Her story is a reminder that sometimes the biggest victories come from simply deciding to keep going. 💙
