High temperatures and wildfire smoke can be dangerous, especially for older adults and individuals living with chronic health conditions.

Protect yourself and your loved ones during extreme heat by:
💧 Drinking water frequently, even if you don’t feel thirsty.
🏠 Staying indoors and limiting outdoor activities during the hottest part of the day, typically 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
👵 Checking on older adults, neighbors, friends, and loved ones who may be more vulnerable to heat-related illness.
❄️ Using air conditioning or visiting a cool, air-conditioned location when needed.

When smoke is in the air:
💨 Keep windows and doors closed when air quality is poor.
🏠 Stay indoors as much as possible and avoid strenuous outdoor activities.
😷 Consider wearing a well-fitting N95 mask if you must go outside during smoky conditions.
❤️ Pay attention to symptoms such as coughing, difficulty breathing, chest tightness, dizziness, or unusual fatigue. Seek medical attention if symptoms are severe or concerning.
