This week, we are proud to recognize Community Health Improvement Week by highlighting an important part of Van Buren County Hospital — our Community Services Center.

🎉 365 Days with No Falls! 🎉

Congratulations to the Van Buren County Hospital team on achieving 365 days with no patient falls — an incredible accomplishment that reflects our commitment to safety, teamwork, and quality care. Yesterday we were able to celebrate this accomplishment with the team!

A special shoutout goes to our amazing Med-Surg team for their dedication and daily focus on keeping patients safe. This milestone would not be possible without the support and collaboration of every department working together to provide the best care for our patients.

🎥 It was video shoot day at VBCH!

Today we filmed for our FY27 Q1 commercial, and we are excited to highlight our Skilled Nursing services and the compassionate care our team provides close to home.

We also captured footage for something new coming soon — a virtual video tour of Van Buren County Hospital! This will be a great way for patients, families, and community members to see more of VBCH, learn about our services, and feel more comfortable before they walk through our doors.

A big thank you to our staff for helping make today’s filming a success. We can’t wait to share the finished videos with you soon!

Make sure you stop by the VBCH Foundation Fundraiser! They are set up in the Community Services Center on the VBCH campus. 10% of proceeds go back to the foundation. Set up Thursday from 9-7 and Friday 9-5!

This week we’re proud to celebrate Certified Wound Care Specialist Week!

Please join us in recognizing Kyla Yates, Certified Wound Care Specialist, and Dr. Jay Nastav, who also provides wound care services to our patients. Wound care is so much more than treating a wound — it’s helping patients heal, regain comfort, prevent complications, and improve their quality of life.

Together, Kyla and Dr. Nastav help ensure our patients have access to high-quality wound care close to home, without having to travel far for the support they need.

Parents as Teachers supports parents and caregivers with helpful information, activities, and guidance to encourage your child’s growth and development right from the start. Whether you’re looking for fun ways to learn together, developmental support, or connection with other local families, this program is here to help.

What an incredible week for Team VBCH!

Several of our staff members recently attended the Epic conference, where they had the opportunity to learn, collaborate, and connect with healthcare professionals from across the country. Not only are they leaning valuable ideas and insights, but they also had the honor of presenting on the exciting work happening right here at Van Buren County Hospital (that’s our full leadership team on the big screen)!

We are incredibly proud of our team for representing VBCH on a national stage and sharing how we are using innovation, teamwork, and technology to improve the care we provide to our patients and community every day. (Thanks Chris M.!)
