JEMLab is heading to junxioncampout 🐝

We’re building a camp for the weekend: a festival-wide guided Shabbat, workshops, a place to land in the middle of it all. Bonus timing, it lands right as Sukkot begins, the week we build temporary shelters on purpose. Feels right for a campground full of people doing exactly that.

Something shifts in August.

The Jewish calendar has a word for it: Elul. The month of return. The slow turn back toward yourself before the new year arrives.

The Sabbath Dance returns on August 14th for Elul Homecoming: a Kabbalat Shabbat in three movements.
Movement warm-up. Ecstatic dance. Sound bath.
Come back to your body. Come back to this community. Come back to yourself.

A concert where the audience becomes the choir.

Join us for a summer evening of communal singing, sacred folk music, and surprise at a secret outdoor location in Williamsburg.

We’ll begin with a participatory singing workshop led by Musicollage , returning to the Jewish Embodiment Lab after leading one of our favorite community experiences.

Then we’ll welcome Merchav for their first-ever NYC performance, just after recording their debut album. Drawing from Hasidic nigunim, American folk, Hebrew prayer, and original music, they create concerts where the audience becomes part of the sound.
Whether you sing every day or only in the shower, you’re invited.
