Great share about how 97% of breastfed babies still wake up for night feedings at 5-12 months. For all my new mamas asking what their baby should be doing. Janai Meyer RD IBCLC Wellness Studio is a great local resource for all your breastfeeding questions.

This 2024 study describes what’s normal for night-waking in breastfeeding babies 5 to 12 months old. Not surprisingly, 97% woke and nursed at least once during the night. It’s reassuring to know that night nursing at this stage is age-appropriate, not the sign of faulty parenting or a sleep disorder. Great opportunity for our new moms in Ketchikan!

We are so thankful for the opportunity to offer Connecting To Self And Baby, a gentle and meaningful class focused on co‑regulation, connection, and care for both parents and their little ones. This class will help new parents discover new co-regulation techniques through Yoga exercises.

This class is sponsored generously by the (Crossett Grant) Seattle Children's, made available through our Early Learning Program at Community Connections. Because of this sponsorship, families were able to participate at no cost, removing barriers and creating a welcoming space for connection, learning, and growth.

Thank you to the foundation for believing in early learning, caregiver well‑being, and the strength of community. Your support is helping families build strong, connected beginnings one breath, one baby, and one family at a time.
We are deeply grateful for your continued investment in our community and the families we serve.
