Keeping kids safe in the bathroom starts with simple habits that make a big difference. Here are some essentials every parent should know:

🛁 Never leave little ones alone in the tub — even for a moment
🌡️ Keep bath water warm (not hot) and set your water heater to 120°F
🤲 Test the water with your wrist or elbow before they get in
🚫 Use non‑slip mats or strips to prevent slips
🧼 Cover the faucet with a soft cover or washcloth to avoid bumps
🚽 Install toilet‑lid locks and keep bathroom doors closed
🧹 Wipe up splashes and spills right away to prevent falls

Pop Quiz: How long does it take for the temperature inside a car to heat up by 20 degrees?

🔴 60 minutes
🔴 10 minutes
🔴 30 minutes

If you said 10 minutes, you would be correct. The temperature inside a car can increase by 20 degrees in 10 minutes or less, depending on how hot it is outside. On an 80-degree day, the temperature inside a car can soar to 120 degrees in just 20 minutes. Also, children's bodies heat up 3 to 5 times faster than adults, making them especially susceptible to heatstroke and death.

⚠️ Never, ever leave a child alone in a car: Even for a few minutes, even with the windows cracked or if they are asleep.
⚠️ Lock cars: Ensure cars are locked when parked to prevent children from climbing in unattended.
⚠️ Create reminders: Place your phone, wallet, or purse in the backseat as a visual reminder to check before leaving the car.
⚠️ Take Action: If you see a child alone in a car, call 911 immediately.
