Our clinics in Kewanee, Colona & Toulon offer Family Practitioner led clinic services to all local residents. First Choice Healthcare services are provided by the Henry-Stark County Health Department in order to further the organization’s mission: to protect and improve the health of the community. With Clinic locations in Kewanee and Colona, First Choice Healthcare is here to serve you! We accept

most insurances, and offer access to low-cost healthcare to those without health insurance or those who have a high insurance deductible. You do not have to be a resident of Henry or Stark County to access many services. This institution is an equal opportunity provider. Our Kewanee clinic is available for “Walk-In” appointments Monday-Friday 7:30am-5:30pm. Our Colona clinic is open for appointments only Monday-Friday 8am-4pm.

July is designated National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month to bring awareness to the unique struggles that racial and ethnic minority communities face regarding mental illness. Therefore, we remind all local residents that we offer Mental Health services, and we are accepting new patients! Our behavioral health staff are prepared to support patients for counseling & therapy beginning at age 5; and beginning at age 6 for medication management.

With limited resources for mental health in our community, it is now more important than ever to provide individuals with the behavioral and mental health support they need.

This designation is observed each July to bring awareness to the unique struggles that racial & ethnic minority communities face regarding mental illness in the United States. The theme for Minority Mental Health Awareness Month 2026 is "More Good Days Together!" This theme encourages open and honest conversations about mental health within communities of color; and looks to moving past surface-level interactions to support one another through struggles. The Henry & Stark County Health Departments & the First Choice Healthcare Clinics of Kewanee & Toulon note as we all enjoy our summer – remember, August will come soon enough. The First Choice Healthcare Clinics are offering Sports & School Physical Exams appointments throughout the summer.

The clinics will offer school & sports physicals at a cash price of only $50. Those with insurance coverage, please bring insurance information if billing to insurance. The Henry & Stark County Health Departments & First Choice Healthcare Clinics announce that our “12 Communities, 12 Months” event for July will be a special outreach display on this Friday, July 24th from 10:00am-2:00pm in the Concessions Building at the Stark County Junior Fair, Wyoming, IL Our staff will offer the public: Free Accepting & Disposal of Home Expired or Unused Medications; and Free Blood Pressure Checks. There will also be free giveaways and health information.
