In honor of National Nurses Week, our Executive Director, Darcy Swanson wanted to say a few kind words.

“I would just like to take a moment to recognize our wonderful nurses. Prairie Place would not be one of the best in the area without a strong and compassionate nursing staff. All of these incredible ladies make it a point to get to know every single tenant within the building and treat them like family. I'm thrilled that they get in on all the fun around here as well. Celebrating National Nurses Week with a huge shout‑out to our amazing Regional Nurse Consultant, Kim Orlando!

Kim leads with heart, teaches with passion, and cares with a level of dedication that inspires everyone around her. She loves Memory Care, loves educating, and loves making a difference in the lives of seniors.

She’s also a proud mom to Nina and Dominick, and dog‑mom to Buddy, her little shadow.

Kim became a nurse because she wanted to support people during their most vulnerable moments—and thirty years later, long‑term care has become her calling.

Kim, we are so lucky to have you. Thank you for your compassion, your leadership, and your unwavering commitment to our residents and team members.
