Mindful of the journey of Life. Each day I have the privilege of listening to individual as they aim to move forward to enhance satisfaction in their life. My first goal is to allow the patient to develop trust in our clinical relationship. Listening is so essential. I listen to what Is said and not said. My words aim to let the patient know they were heard with empathy, care, and consideration for there thoughts and feelings. I encourage the patient to be empowered to believe they can change. Often individuals believe they can not change if they do not know what steps to take. I let them know when you believe you can change; together they will find the way. The patient will find the answers from their life experiences and innate desire to grow. Self evaluation is part of the process and judgment is never part of the process. Between sessions I reflect on patient’s work and encourage them to do the same. Likewise, I learn so much and my life and world view is shaped by the journey of individuals I care for. Today, I am grateful that my life was guided to the art of the growth process. Spiritual growth is so part of the process. I do not work with mental illness as I believe I work to increase the mental health through the complex journey of life. Not sure why I felt the need to express these word. And perhaps clarify to some the process of Psychotherapy. It is the core of success that you feel comfortable with your clinician, A photo from my time living in Key West. Thanksgiving.  a time we can all be thankful for something. 
Some may be facing a difficult year with challenges of life; financial difficulty,  relationship, problems, health, issues, employment, difficulties, or feeling very lonely.  A time  to feel good about ourselves.  we can express, empathy, compassion, and kindness. 
It will help those with challenges feel a little better that day  happy Thanksgiving to all
