Our June 2026 Pug patients of the month Tater and Talulah!! Their owners have been so kind to share some awesome pictures and a short little bio to introduce the perfect pugs 🩵

Tater and Talulah are incredibly excited to be patients of the month! Tater joined the Brindisi family 12 years ago and Talulah followed four years ago, ruining Tater’s spoiled only child status.
Talulah is the classic second child. She’s crazy, full of energy, and not afraid of anything right up until she is. But she’s also a supreme snuggler and an absolute sweetheart.
Tater is old and wise. She’s seen it all and isn’t fazed by much. As long as there’s a soft pillow or a cozy blanket nearby, she’s a happy pug. What also makes her happy is going to the vet! She’s the only dog I’ve ever known to be 100% excited to go see the vet and have done to her whatever it is that needs to be done.
Both of them love boating, love food, and love licking every square inch of this earth. And we wouldn’t have it any other way.

This month the Comerford family has been so kind to share their dog, Frank, with us and accept the title of 2026 Patient of the month. Keys Animal Care Center has had the privilege of loving Mister Frank Comerford for years now and is excited to share his story with you all! Below you will find a short bio written by Frank’s kind owners.

Frank hails from upstate New York. He has been the Comerford family pet since he was 10 weeks old. Now, at 13 ½ years young, Frank is happily retired (like so many others) on Sugarloaf Key. He spends his days napping in the sun, eating snacks, looking for pats and snuggles, and following Tim around everywhere.
When he was a younger dog, he would chase Iguanas, bark at Red Truck, and lick everyone constantly. Even though he is a Brussels Griffon, he looked very much like Frank from the movie Men in Black, where his name came from.

Frank is a proud graduate of It’s Your Dog School for Dogs where he earned his Basic Manners 1 & 2 certificates. He knows how to sit, play touch, and that’s about it. He is a well-loved member of the Comerford family. He is super proud to be named pet/patient of the month and ……he loves Dr. Holly!

Very exciting news! 🎉🐾 Not one, but TWO of our very own veterinarians from Keys Animal Care Center were selected to help care for the incredible canine athletes of the Iditarod this year! 🐕❄️

Before these teams even hit the trail, every dog undergoes a thorough pre-race “vet check” to ensure they’re healthy, strong, and ready for the journey ahead. During these exams, veterinarians carefully assess each dog’s overall appearance, body condition, mentation, posture, hydration, and vital signs—leaving no detail overlooked.

Beyond the physical exam, each dog must also have a microchip, complete bloodwork, and an ECG to evaluate heart health. They must be up-to-date on vaccinations and dewormed within 10 days of the race—because their safety and wellbeing always come first. ❤️

We are beyond proud to have our team play a role in such an iconic event and to help support the health of these amazing athletes every step (and paw print) of the way! 🐾🏔️

Sunset views + wagging tails = the perfect Key West combo 🌅🐾

One of our amazing doctors from Keys Animal Care Center, Dr Brown, had a blast judging the dog show at Sunset Pier—so many incredible pups, personalities, and paw-some moments! 🐶✨

And a special shoutout to our patient Bean, who took home Best Smile 😁🏆 We couldn’t be more proud!! 💙

We love being part of a community that celebrates our four-legged friends in such a fun way 🐾
