🎀 Some breast cancer statistics can be scary. But don't be scared — be aware.

In the U.S., about 1 in 8 women will develop breast cancer during their lifetime. In 2026, an estimated 321,910 women will be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer.

But there is another number worth knowing: breast cancer death rates have declined substantially over the past several decades, as early detection, screening, and advances in treatment continue to make a difference.

Knowledge matters. Awareness matters. And taking care of your health matters. 💗

🎀 Breast cancer doesn't always appear as a lump.

While a new lump or mass is one possible sign, breast cancer can also cause other changes — including changes in breast size or shape, swelling, dimpling, skin changes, ni**le changes, or discharge.

That’s why knowing what is normal for you matters.

If you notice a new or unusual change, don't ignore it. Talk with your healthcare provider and get it checked.

Be aware. Be proactive. Know your normal. 💗

💗 We’re seeing pink!

This week, the Legacy Home Health Care team came together for our office Pink Out in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

We wore pink, shared a little fellowship, and most importantly, took a moment to recognize the importance of breast health, early detection, and supporting those affected by breast cancer.

Thank you to our team for helping us spread awareness — because sometimes a little extra color can start an important conversation. 🎀

🎀 Early detection matters.

Did you know breast self-exams can be done in more than one position? NBCF recommends women ages 18 and older become familiar with how their breasts normally look and feel through regular breast self-awareness.

Try checking in the shower, in front of a mirror, and while lying down — and be aware of any changes from month to month.

Remember, self-exams are just one part of breast health and do not replace recommended screenings or regular care from your healthcare provider.

Take a few minutes to check in with yourself. 💗

It may be the last day of August… but here in Florida, fall is still a ways away.

While the rest of the country may be thinking about cooler temperatures and pumpkin everything, our Florida heat is still hanging on. That means heat safety should stay on our radar well beyond the summer months.

Staying hydrated is one of the simplest ways to help your body handle the heat.
