With this week's heat wave, I am sure alot of you are going to notice your hands, feet and even ankles feel puffier. That's your circulation working overtime to help keep you cool. Getting a massage can help with that puffiness by supporting healthy blood flow and lymphatic drainage, helping reduce that swollen, heavy feeling that summer heat can bring.

A good massage and some extra water intake can help you feel better and push through these high temps that we are about to see this week.

Weather your looking for relief or even just some relaxation, I have several opening this week. Check out my booking site to see all my availability and to book your next session.

Inflammation doesn't happen in isolation. What affects your muscles affects your sleep. What affects your sleep affects your stress levels. What affects your stress levels affects your inflammation.

Massage therapy works across all of those systems... calming the nervous system, improving circulation, and giving your body the conditions it needs to actually heal. It's one of the few wellness tools that addresses the whole picture, not just the symptom.

I have openings this week if you're ready to give your body some support.

Summer & Your Muscles: What You Should Know

Most people don't realize that summer can actually be harder on your body than you'd think.

Heat causes dehydration, and dehydrated muscles lose elasticity, making them tighter, more fatigued, and more prone to cramping. Add in increased outdoor activity, longer days on your feet, and the strain of carrying beach bags, gardening, or weekend adventures, and your body is working overtime.

Regular massage therapy helps by:

✔️ Improving circulation so muscles get the oxygen they need
✔️ Flushing out metabolic waste that builds up after activity
✔️ Reducing inflammation in overworked tissue
✔️ Restoring flexibility and range of motion

Think of it less as a treat and more as maintenance, just like drinking water and stretching, it keeps your body functioning at its best all season long.

Ready to give your body the support it deserves this summer?

✨ Supporting Local & Loving It! ✨

One of my favorite things about running Magnolia Massage and Wellness is being intentional about the products I bring into my space, and that includes the essential oils I use during your sessions!

Recently I had the chance to visit Simply Earth right here in Wisconsin, and honestly? It made me love their brand even more. 🌿

If you're not familiar, Simply Earth is a small, family-run essential oils company that believes in keeping things pure, honest, and affordable. Their oils are 100% pure, ethically sourced from farms around the world, and every batch is third-party GC/MS tested for quality and purity. No fillers, no synthetic junk, just the real thing.

What I appreciate most is that they share those same values I try to bring to Magnolia Massage: transparency, quality, and a commitment to your wellbeing. You deserve to know what's going into your session, and I'm proud to use oils I genuinely trust.

Supporting a Wisconsin-based business while also getting top-quality products for my clients? That's a win I'll take every time. 💚

Next time you're on the table and you catch a whiff of something amazing, you'll know exactly where it came from. 😊

👉 Check out Simply Earth at simplyearth.com, they also have a monthly recipe box if you want to bring a little of that magic home!

Is a 60-Minute Massage Enough? Here's What You Need to Know.

A 60-minute massage is one of the most popular session lengths, and for good reason. It's enough time to meaningfully reduce stress, ease tension in a targeted area, and leave you feeling noticeably better. But depending on what your body is dealing with, it may only scratch the surface.

Here's how session length actually affects your results:

🕐 60 MINUTES
Best for: Stress relief, maintenance, or one focused problem area (ex. neck & shoulders or lower back)
• Your therapist can warm the muscles and apply therapeutic work to 1–2 regions
• Great for clients who get regular massages and are maintaining progress
• May feel rushed if you have tension throughout multiple areas

🕙 90 MINUTES
Best for: Full-body tension, chronic pain, or multiple problem areas
• Allows time for a complete head-to-toe session without skipping areas
• Your therapist can spend more time on deeper work where it's needed most
• The nervous system has more time to fully relax, amplifying the benefits
• Ideal for people who carry tension in their neck, shoulders, back, AND hips/legs

⏰ 2 HOURS
Best for: Chronic conditions, recovery, or a true full-body reset
• Maximum time for deep tissue work, trigger point therapy, or addressing long-standing issues
• Your therapist can revisit areas multiple times as muscles progressively release
• Produces the longest-lasting relief between sessions

Why does more time matter?
Muscles don't release instantly. It takes time to warm the tissue, apply the right pressure, and allow the body to respond. In a shorter session, your therapist has to make choices about what to skip. In a longer session, nothing gets left out, and the work goes deeper.

If you've ever left a massage feeling like your therapist "ran out of time" before getting to everything, a longer session is likely the answer.
