Today, we celebrate the many people who show up with love, guidance, and support in a child’s life.

To fathers, stepfathers, grandfathers, uncles, older brothers, mentors, coaches, foster parents, and all father figures—thank you for the countless ways you help children feel safe, valued, and loved.

We also recognize that Father’s Day can be complicated for some families. Whether you’re remembering someone you’ve lost, navigating a difficult relationship, or honoring someone who stepped into a fatherly role when it mattered most, we see you.

At CH.A.M.Ps Pediatrics, we celebrate all those who help children grow, thrive, and believe in themselves.

Happy Father’s Day to every person making a difference in a child’s life. 💙

The most common form of hypoglycemia is asymptomatic, transient neonatal hypoglycemia, which should resolve within 48 hours of birth.

Certain newborns are at higher risk of hypoglycemia and require screening: Preterm newborns, small for gestational age (SGA) or intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR) newborns, newborns of diabetic mothers, and large for gestational age (LGA) newborns.

The exact definition of hypoglycemia is difficult to pin down, but the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) uses ≤47 mg/dL of glucose level.

The challenge is balancing risk of over screening and treatment of those newborns with normal transient lower blood glucose levels with the risk for potential poor long-term neurodevelopmental outcomes due to persistent hypoglycemia.

Recognizing infants at risk of disturbances in postnatal glucose homeostasis and providing a margin of safety by early measures to prevent (feeding) and treat (feeding and intravenous glucose infusion) low glucose concentrations are primary goals.

A new study just showed you can cut the plastic chemicals in your kid’s body in HALF — in just 7 days.
👩‍⚕️the study also found higher phthalate levels were linked to worse cardiometabolic biomarkers — markers that signal long-term risk for obesity and metabolic disease. 🧑‍🧑‍🧒Childhood is a critical developmental window, which is why this matters so much for our keiki.
💬 Which change is most doable for your family?
