Mr. Michael Devon Haynes

Funeral services for Michael Devon Haynes, 23, of Gladewater, Texas, will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at 3 p.m. at Union Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Brian Zappa as eulogist. Victory Funeral Services of Kilgore is in charge of the services.

Michael was born May 15, 2003, in Kilgore, Texas, to the parentage of Gina Marie Tovar and Roy Henry Haynes, and his biological father, Olin Lee Reagan. He departed this life on June 11, 2026, in Logansport, Louisiana, due to a fatal car accident.

He united with and was baptized at the Union Grove Baptist Church, where he served until his demise.

Through the years, he attended several public schools and culminated his education in the Leveretts Chapel Independent School District.

After high school, he secured employment as an oilfield worker, often working offshore. He also held employment with AXIS, and was currently employed by BTW, a well-service company.

When not working, he could be found doting on his precious son and spending time with family and friends. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.

His grandparents, Lydia Tovar, and Thomas and Willie Mae Haynes, all preceded him in death.

He is survived by his son, Michael Denton Haynes of Arp, TX; mother of his son, Maddison Pritchett of Arp, TX; his mother, Gina Marie Tovar of Overton, TX; his father, Roy Henry Haynes of Overton, TX; his biological father, Olin Lee Reagan of Tyler, TX; sisters, Emily Biggs of Tyler, TX, and Kristina Haynes of Gladewater, TX; brother, Alexander Biggs and his wife, Elrica of Beaumont, TX; grandparents, Gerald and Marla Hamilton of Palestine, TX; uncles, Scott Weaver, Donnie Haynes, and Cleo Haynes; aunts, JoAnn Haynes Kennard and Billie Sue Haynes; special friend, Alex Jones of Overton, TX; special cousins, Terran Leon McNeal, II, Jordan Haynes, Jennifer Haynes, Taiona McNeal, Gordon Haynes, Ethan Cravens, Telea McNeal, Tommy Nelson, Mary Nelson, Latoya Nelson, and Frances Haynes, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Public viewing will be held from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. before the funeral service at the church.

Mr. Versie Lorenzo Darrel Thomas

Funeral services for Versie Lorenzo Darrel Thomas, 68, of Kilgore, Texas, will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 1 p.m. at Greater Faith Ministries, 507 Martin Luther King Dr., Kilgore, TX, with Rev. Tracy Colbert as eulogist and Rev. Marvin Taylor as officiant. Burial will follow in Kilgore Memorial Garden. Victory Funeral Services of Kilgore is in charge of the services.

Versie entered the world in the City of Jacksonville, Texas, on March 5, 1958, born to the parentage of Jeff Davis and Florence Myrann Beck Thomas. He departed this life from his residence on June 7, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones.

He was baptized and united with Bethel Temple of Longview and remained a member until his demise.

He played football and baseball and graduated in the Class of 1976 from Kilgore High School.

Through the years, he ran his own business of odd jobs and lawn care maintenance. In his spare time, he could be found posing for photos. He loved being a part of a great picture up to the point of buying cameras just to be photographed with others. He relished being around family and friends. During the early 70’s and 80’s, he was a regular softball player at the gatherings at Woody’s in Kilgore.

His parents, siblings, Mervin Dudley, Vanessa Blanton, Patricia Ann Jones, and brother-in-law, Larry Zachery, all preceded him in death.
Left to mourn his passing are his siblings and their families, Nina Zachery and Bonnie Colbert, both of Kilgore, TX; Linda Kay Prince of Ft. Worth, TX; Evon Hawkins of Overton, TX; Dianne Mitchell of Longview, TX; Ricky Dudley of Dallas, TX; and Jeffrey Geter of Arlington, TX; special friends, the Taylor family, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Public viewing will be held from noon until 1 p.m. before the funeral service at the church.

Mr. James Dennis

Funeral services for James Earl Dennis, 68, of Kilgore, Texas, will be held on Friday, May 22, 2026, at 1 p.m. at Holy Prayer Apostolic Church, 12334 Farm to Market Rd 2012, Kilgore, TX 75662, with Rev. Tracey Colbert as eulogist. Burial to follow at Kilgore Baptist Cemetery. Victory Funeral Services of Kilgore is in charge of the services.

The journey called life began for James, also known as “Tick,” being born in Overton, Texas, on November 27, 1957, to the parentage of L. T. “Tit” and Katherine Pegues Dennis. He departed this life on May 8, 2026, at Christus Good Shepherd Emergency Center in Kilgore.

As a child, he attended Harmony Pirtle Baptist Church along with his family.

His education was garnered in the Leverett’s Chapel School District just outside of Kilgore, Texas, where he played football.

Scurlock Oil Field Services provided James employment in their maintenance department.

He enjoyed playing dominoes, detailing cars, and doing lawn care whenever time permitted.

His parents, brothers, Theron Dennis and Michael Dennis all preceded him in death.

Left to mourn his passing is his wife, Miyosha Hall-Dennis of Kilgore, TX; one daughter, Melissa Dennis of Kilgore; three sons, James Dewayne Dennis, Michael Dennis, and Curtis Howard all of Kilgore; sisters, Peggy Snyder of Boling Brook, Il and Charlotte Dixon of Kilgore, TX; special buddies, Charles Jackson, Lawrence Geter, and Charles Williams all of Kilgore; grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at Victory Funeral Services of Kilgore, Texas

Evangelist Jo Catherine Emanuel Anthony

Funeral services for Jo Catherine Emanuel Anthony, 75, of Henderson, Texas, will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Mother Zion Baptist Church, 403 Redbud, Henderson, TX 75652, with Rev. Charles Hunt as eulogist. Burial will follow at Strong Cemetery in Henderson, Texas. Victory Funeral Services of Kilgore is in charge of the services.

Jo entered the world to her parents, Joe Thomas and Zeddie Mae Emanuel, on October 11, 1950, in Rusk County, Texas. She peacefully transitioned in the comfort of her home in Longview, Texas, on Friday, April 17, 2026.

She accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of Mother Zion Baptist Church, where she was an active member in the choir. Later in 2001, she answered the call to the ministry under the leadership of Pastor Madero Hilburn and served as an evangelist until God called her home.

In her youth, she attended Henderson elementary schools and Hill High School in Henderson, Texas. She later garnered her general equivalency diploma (GED), enabling her to gain her certification as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT).

Through the years, she also held employment at Faulkner Antiques, cleaning private homes, and worked for many years at Pine Lodge Assisted Living.

She is preceded in death by her parents, grandmother, Ida Lee Miller, grandfather, Bob Miller, and a son, Selig Mayes Robertson.

Left to cherish her memory are five children, Timothy James Anthony and his wife, Facia of Kilgore, TX; Patricia Ann Anthony, Valerie Renee Harper and her husband, Junior, Audrey Lajoyce Anthony Green all of Longview, TX; Anthony, Jr. and his wife, Angie of Monroe, LA; 15 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, a very close cousin, Sharon Lister Walton of Dallas, TX; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mr. Charles Kenneth Dixon

Funeral services for Charles Kenneth Dixon, 86, of Kilgore, Texas, will be held on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at 1 p.m. at Red Oak Baptist Church with Rev. Ronald Daniels as eulogist. Burial will follow in Kilgore Memorial Gardens. Victory Funeral Services of Kilgore is in charge of the services.

Charles, more commonly known as Ken, was born in Cleveland, Ohio, on January 4, 1940, to Clifford Harrison Dixon, Sr. and Christine Patterson. He would later develop a wonderful and loving relationship with his stepmother, Georgia Ella Wilhoite Dixon.

He departed this life on April 1, 2026, at his daughter’s home in Lawrenceville, Georgia, surrounded by loved ones.

Upon relocating to East Texas in January of 1993, he recommitted his life to Christ and was baptized at Mt. Pleasant Christian Methodist Episcopal Church in Kilgore. Later on March 29, 2006, he united with the Red Oak Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. H. C. Rockmore and remained a member until his demise.

Ken acquired his education in the public schools of Cleveland, Ohio, culminating in his graduation as a member of the Glenville High School Class of 1957.

He was married to Gwendolyn Lytle. Two children, Kenneth and Shawn, were born to that union. Later on May 30, 1983, he married Birthenia Robertson, and along with her daughter, Michelle, he completed his forever family.

Ken's 27-year career with the U. S. Postal Service as a letter carrier concluded with early retirement on October 31, 1992, in Pasadena, California. He was elated to retire early so he could spend more time traveling and fishing. In his golden years, he could be found serving his community, volunteering with the American Red Cross. He additionally served with membership in the Gregg County Democratic Party, where he was a staple at polling stations on election days. Always remaining active, he delivered the East Texas Ebony News Journal to local businesses and churches.

Ken also faithfully joined his regular scheduled gathering at the Golden Corral to eat and solve the problems of the world with his late friends, Gilbert Dickey, Franklin Slaughter, and Sanders Carr.

His parents, wife Birthenia Dixon, sister Janet Harell, and brother Clifford Dixon, Jr., all preceded him in death.

Those who Ken leaves to cherish his memory are his daughter, Shawn Dixon Wilson, son-in-law, Anthony Wilson of Lawrenceville, GA; his son, Kenneth Dixon and daughter-in-law Treisha Hall Dixon of Raleigh, NC and two grandchildren, Darian Dixon of Detroit, MI, and Midori Groom of Hemet, CA; step-daughter, Helen Michele Webster, her husband Bill and three grandchildren, Ian, William and Nia Webster of Harbor City, CA; three great-grandchildren; sister, Nina Mae Johnson of Ontario, CA; brother James W. Dixon and wife Brenda of Cleveland, OH; and a host of loving family and friends.

Public viewing will be held from 2 until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 21, 2026 at Victory Funeral Services.

Mrs. Eva Mae Tyeskie Smith

Funeral services for Eva Mae Tyeskie Smith, 84, of Kilgore, Texas, will be held on Friday, April 10, 2026, at 1 p.m. at Forest Home Baptist Church, 15746 County Road 173 N, Kilgore, TX 75662, with Rev. Roger Smith as eulogist. Victory Funeral Services of Kilgore is in charge of the services.

Eva Mae began her journey as the beautiful, loving person she was by being born in Gladewater, Texas, on June 29, 1941, one of five children to the parentage of Neal and Rosie Mae Brittain Tyeskie. She departed this life as the last one of the five children on March 31, 2026, at her home, amidst her loved ones.

Her Christian walk started by uniting with and being baptized at St. John Baptist Church in Kilgore and later followed by membership at Progressive Church in Gladewater, Texas. She completed her earthly service to God at St. Paul Baptist Church in Tatum, Texas, where she served as needed.

Her education was garnered in the Gladewater Independent School District prior to relocating to Kilgore, Texas.

She worked many years in private homes as a sitter, as a bus driver in Kilgore Independent School District, and in food service at Laird Hospital and KISD as well.

When not being the Greatest Grandmother of All Times, she could be found committed to the things she loved, fishing or cooking, both of which she excelled at. Being the excellent cook that she was, she was ever present at the Sherman R. Smith Community Room during the Tatum Nutrition weekly meals.

Although she was the mother of nine children, she served as an encouraging mom figure, spreading love and compassion for many more in her community, on her bus, and in her church. The overwhelming response to her passing has been memories of her loving heart and sweetness to all she encountered.

Her parents, her husband, John Smith, her sisters, Ella Hollis, Ozzie Lee Green, and Novie Scott, her brother, Otis James “J-Bo” Tyeskie, two grandsons, Ta**us Tyeskie, and Damian Reeves, two of her best friends, Mae Ella Haynes Kennedy and Ernest West all preceded her in death.

Left to mourn her passing are her children, Patricia Tyeskie of Henderson,TX; Johnnie Mae Tyeskie Roberson of Dallas, TX; Maxine Kind of Overton, TX; Victoria Tyeskie Holman of Kilgore, TX; Jace Tyeskie of Kilgore; Connell Tyeskie, of Kilgore; Rose Tyeskie Jackson of Hallsville, TX; Jessie James Tyeskie of Tulsa, OK; and Eva Nichole Jones and her husband, Corey of Kilgore; 28 grandchildren, 82 great grandchildren, ten great-great grandchildren, special friends, Javon Griffin and Martha Jane Williams both of Kilgore, TX; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at Victory Funeral Services of Kilgore, Texas.
