In Loving Memory of Terry Lee Rhoades

November 27, 1962 – July 27, 2026

Terry Lee Rhoades was born on November 27, 1962, at Fort Riley, Kansas, to the late Lawrence Rhoades and Rosa Lee Varney.

Terry’s education came from the local public school system and, as he loved to put it, from the "streets." He lived a full, colorful life and worked hard across various trades over the years—including work as a septic tank installer, a bouncer, and a custodian for KISD.

Though he walked a rough path in his early years, Terry found grace and accepted Christ into his heart, changing the course of his life forever. From that moment on, his ultimate mission was to reach people with the love of God and share the Gospel with anyone he met.

Terry was a man of distinct passions. He loved martial arts, classic John Wayne movies, and the timeless music of Elvis Presley. But above all, Terry had an exceptional heart for the vulnerable. He was a fierce protector who stood tall for anyone being bullied—a spirit he kept even while residing in his nursing home, where he continuously looked out for his fellow residents. If someone was hungry or down on their luck, Terry was always the first to offer a warm meal and a helping hand.

He is survived by his four loving brothers: Randy, Ray, Jimmy, and Bucky; and his five dear sisters: Linda, Laura, Iveline, Betty, and Mary. He is reunited in eternal peace with his beloved parents, Lawrence and Rosa Lee, and his late brother, Homer and his late sister Susie.

• Personal Care & Support Circle: An extra special thank you to Patt and spouse, Iva and spouse, Nick, and Angel and spouse. These extraordinary individuals came together as a team, combining their unique skills to guide and support Terry through some of his most vital needs. They faithfully took him to all of his medical appointments and procedures, helped him navigate financial assistance, assisted him in securing his birth certificate and state ID, and guided him through applying for his Social Security benefits. Their love and dedication continued without wavering through his last days at the Ivy Creek Nursing Home.

• Medical & Care Teams: The compassionate doctors, nurses, and staff at Seton Hospital, Scott & White Hospital, and The Ivy Creek Nursing Home in Waco, alongside the dedicated Hospice nurses and staff at Scott & White. A special mention of gratitude goes to Elizabeth Bender from Harbor Hospice, who provided Terry with deep spiritual comfort during his final days.

• Parks & Recreation: The entire park staff at the Harker Heights Community Park, with heartfelt gratitude to Angel Rodriguez and Jeremiah Quiroz.

• Community & Local Businesses: The entire Harker Heights community who had the privilege of knowing Terry during his long, regular walks throughout the city; all the local businesses, including H-E-B and Walmart, that graciously welcomed him and allowed him access to their facilities during his walks.

• Special Appreciation: A very special thank you to Frank, owner of Sam's Store on Indian Trail. Frank went above and beyond by allowing Terry to use the store's facilities, especially during the hardest and coldest times. Frank's deep generosity ensured Terry was safe, warm, and taken care of so he could survive the most brutal winter days. Heartfelt thanks also go out to all of the store's customers who shared positive interactions with Terry over the years.

Terry’s warmth, protective nature, and unwavering faith left a lasting mark on every street he walked and every life he touched. He will be deeply missed.

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved Mom, Doris Ottilie Shawker, on July 31, 2026 at the age of 84. She leaves behind a family who loved her deeply and misses her dearly.
Born on June 24, 1942 in Hambach, Germany to Ludwig and Magdalena Seufert, she lived in poverty after WWII. Throughout her life, she experienced joy, challenges, triumphs and heartbreak. But through it all, she continually loved and turned to Jesus in her Catholic faith. She raised a family who will forever carry her memory with them.

She is survived by three children (Sibille Tallant, Basy Barrera and Frank Shawker); five grandchildren (Aaron Tallant, Caileen Tallant-Adams, Briauna Barrera, Nicolas Barrera, Ryan Shawker and Isabela Barrera); three great-grandchildren (Carter Michael Tallant, Forrest Glenn Adams and Anderson Foster Tallant); her brother Manfred Seufert, her sister Marita Pfiffer and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her adoring husband Leroy Shawker and her sister Ingrid Weber.

There are no words that can truly capture what it feels like to lose our mom. We must learn how to live in a world without her in it. If we had one more chance, we'd hug her a little longer and tell her how much she meant to us. We’d thank her for every sacrifice she made, how she cared for us, and for giving us the greatest gift we could ever receive—the chance to be her children.

Like every family, we had moments that were beautiful and moments that were hard. There were things left unsaid and feelings that weren't always easy to express. Yet, there is one simple truth—Mom was loved beyond measure.

Mom enjoyed dressing to the T, reminiscing about the old days and collecting things like Beanie Babies, magnets, plates and coins. Visitors also collected the treats that Mom loved to share. We miss talking and laughing with her, listening to her stories and all the ordinary moments we once took for granted. Those moments have become the memories we now treasure most and live on in every part of our family.

Rest now, Mom, until we meet again.

In Loving Memory of Raymundo Garza Jr.

August 15, 1985 – July 18, 2026

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Raymundo Garza Jr., who entered eternal rest on July 18, 2026, at the age of 40. Raymundo was born on August 15, 1985, in Austin, Texas, and passed away in Killeen, Texas.

Raymundo was the cherished son of Raymundo Garza Sr. and Ofelia Garza. He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Margaret, and a loving father to his three children, AnaMarie, Anthony and Alaya, who were the center of his world. He was also a treasured brother to Lucero, Jennifer, and Kimberly.

Raymundo loved his family more than life itself. Everything he did was for those he loved. He worked tirelessly to provide for his family and was always striving to become a better version of himself each and every day. His strength, determination, kindness, and unwavering love will forever be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Although our hearts are broken by his passing, we take comfort in the countless memories he leaves behind and in the love that will continue to live on through his family and friends. His legacy of devotion, perseverance, and unconditional love will never be forgotten.

In Loving Memory of Donald "Don" Freedman

Killeen Memorial Park extends our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Donald "Don" Freedman, who passed away on July 25, 2026, at the age of 87.

A graveside service will be held at Killeen Memorial Park on Tuesday, July 28, at approximately 11:30 a.m.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Freedman family and all who knew and loved Don during this difficult time.

Amirion “MirMir” Gabriel Patterson, 19, of Nolanville, Texas, transitioned on July 14, 2026.

Born on June 5,2007 in Norristown, Pennsylvania to Antoinette Clark and John Patterson. Amirion was a talented young man whose creativity and work ethic touched everyone around him. He attended Cedar Valley Elementary School from pre-kindergarten through fifth grade, then Liberty Hill Middle School from sixth through eighth grade and went to Harker Heights High School. He graduated from Texas Virtual Academy at Hallsville with his high school diploma. He recently graduated from Cyber Tech Institute in Killeen, Texas where he earned his HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) certification and EPA 608 Type 1 Certificate in refrigeration. After high school he worked at UPS while completing his technical training.

Throughout his life, Amirion was a dedicated athlete. He began playing football as a young child with the Nolanville Cowboys and continued through high school, where he excelled as a wide receiver. He also played basketball as a shooting guard during middle school at Liberty Hill. MirMir had a deep passion for music and was known as a gifted rapper. Multiple songs can be found on Youtube and Apple.

He is preceded in death by his Great Grandmother Mary Rose Hunter, Uncle Bishop Wilson Jemison Jr., and cousins Diane M. Williams , Shiela Pauline Martin, Angela Denise Redd, and Antonia Gabrielle Hunter.

Amirion Leaves to cherish his memory, his mother Dr. Antoinette Gabrielle Clark, Brother Jay Marque Clark, nephew Nehemiah Jay Clark and other paternal siblings. Grandmother Jacqueline Tanks, Great Aunt Joyce Hunter. Uncle Antonio Gabriel Hunter, Uncle & Aunt Bryan and Maria Roshawn McDougal, Aunt LaMona Marshall, Uncle John Brisby Sr. Along with many cousins John Brisby Jr, Bryan McDougal Jr., Armondrae Coleman, Kiaura McDougal, D’onte McDougal, Nhiya McDougal, Alisha Hunter and her son Dominic Clark, Antoine Kines, Antoinette Williamson, Jamaal and Aureal Nelson, Ashley Hunter, Ariyah and Nyla Heart (Ty &Tay), Gabe and Shumya Garcia, Tristen and Shareese Brooks, Jayden Huey-Green, Llamar Green, and many other loving relatives.

Lisa Renee VonAch Casto passed away unexpectedly in the early morning of July 11, 2026.

Lisa was born at Fort Hood, Texas, December 11, 1969, To Eugene and Elisabeth (Resch) VonAch. Lisa attended school entirely in the Killeen area. Including St. Josephs, Peebles Elementary, Rancier Middle, and participated in the Swim teams at both Ellison and Killeen High Schools.

Lisa greatly valued her family. Cruising and going to concerts along with the beach. She doted on her children and grandchildren, raising them up in the dance studios. And last but not least, her husband (Michael Casto), the Love of her life, she held the greatest of Love.

Lisa and her husband (Michael Casto) of 18 years were partners in a thriving business. Arrow Electric, based in Killeen. Together they grew the business, welcoming each day with adventure. Lisa Held down the office and Michael the field.

Lisa loved going on Cruises, visiting the Casino on the boats, going to concerts, and mostly taking her family to the beach.

Lisa is survived by her husband of 18 years, Michael Casto, 2 Sons, 3 Daughters, and 4 grandchildren.

Michaela Mayann Casto who blessed them with a grandson, David (Myles) Casto.

Mathew Childs of Japan. Jason and Charlotte Childs of Harker Heights.

Mallory (Childs) Pope, who blessed them with 3 beautiful granddaughters. Riley 10, Avery 8, Kaley 5, All of Killeen.

Merideth Childs of Killeen.

She is also survived by 3 sisters, Catherine Vonach, Karen Wheadon. And Margaret Kilpatrick all of Austin. Her extended family of West Virginia, with Nieces and Nephews. And lastly her Life Long Friends, Mollie (Duttwyler) Harris and Bobbie Jo (Grandy) Cox.

She is joining in Heaven, her Parents, Eugene and Elisabeth VonAch and her niece, Shannon.
