💙 Thank you, Henderson United Methodist Church! 💙

We are incredibly grateful for Henderson United Methodist Church's generous $15,000 donation to support the Northern Neck-Middlesex Free Health Clinic's Behavioral Health Program.

Recently, our Certified Peer Recovery Specialists (CPRS), Lacey Edwards and Sam Terry, had the opportunity to speak with the congregation about the Clinic's Behavioral Health services and the real impact these services are making in the lives of our patients and community members. The presentation was made possible through an invitation from Pastor Evelyn Penn, one of our dedicated volunteers. 🙌

Support like this helps us continue providing vital mental health, substance use recovery, and peer support services to those who need them most. We are thankful for community partners who believe in the power of hope, healing, and recovery.

Thank you for investing in healthier lives and stronger communities! 💚

U.S. Sen. Tim Kaine recently visited NNMFHC to tour our facilities and discuss growing healthcare needs facing our region.

During his visit, conversations focused on the impact of Medicaid disruptions, the importance of regional collaboration in healthcare, and NNMFHC’s upcoming capital project supported by $1 million in congressional funding. The project will expand access to safer, more accessible dental care for ambulatory and disabled patients throughout the Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula.

While this funding is a major step forward for expanding care, continued community support remains critical as the Clinic faces rising costs and increasing demand.

We are grateful for Senator Kaine’s continued support of community healthcare and for taking the time to hear directly from the people working every day that serve our neighbors across the region.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this important visit.

We are so happy to have Dr. Owen join our team. He, as well as support from Delta Dental of Virginia, have allowed us to expand our Dental services to include crowns, bridges, and bite guards.

From the classroom to the clinic, Dr. Billy Owen’s journey shows what’s possible when we invest in future providers.

A graduate of VCU School of Dentistry and a Delta Dental of Virginia Foundation Endowed Scholarship recipient, Dr. Owen is now serving patients at the Northern Neck - Middlesex Free Health Clinic where access to dental care has continued to grow in recent years.

Through the Foundation’s support, including grant funding to expand the clinic’s dental program and loan repayment to help offset the cost of his education, Dr. Owen was able to step into a full‑time role caring for patients in Virginia’s safety net.

Today, he’s not only providing care; he’s also helping guide the next generation of dental students as they rotate through the clinic. Stories like Dr. Owen’s remind us that when we invest in education, access, and workforce development, the impact continues to grow long after graduation.

Stronger together 🤝

We recently welcomed Janine Underwood, CEO, and Bryan Lewis, PIC, from Bradley Free Clinic to NNMFHC for a site visit focused on expanding access to affordable medications through the Access to Medication Program (AMP).

Through AMP and our partnership with RxPartnership, NNMFHC serves as a Central Fill pharmacy, supporting other free clinics without in-house pharmacies by filling prescriptions and reducing barriers to care. This model helps lower costs and ensures patients across the region can access the medications they need, when they need them.

By thinking beyond our individual communities and working collaboratively across Virginia, we’re creating solutions that improve care for uninsured and underserved patients.

We’re grateful for partnerships like this that move healthcare access forward. 💙

Help us continue this work! Make a gift today and expand access to care across our region:

It’s a family reunion at NNMFHC with . 😲 🧬

Bryan Lewis, a pharmacist visiting from Bradley Free Clinic in Roanoke, came to learn more about how NNMFHC is structuring our AMP program to expand medication access across the region. During his visit, we discovered he’s cousins with our pharmacist in charge, Brittany Lewis Harding!

Through AMP and our partnership with Rx Partnership, NNMFHC serves as a Central Fill pharmacy - supporting free clinics without in-house pharmacies by filling prescriptions efficiently and helping reduce delays in care.
