I never expected golf to become my newest hobby.

Two months ago, I had never really played. Now I’m learning, getting humbled, celebrating the small wins, and realizing it’s already making me a better PT 😊

It’s also reminded me of something I tell my patients every day:

Progress isn’t linear.

Whether you’re recovering from an injury or learning a new skill, improvement comes from showing up, making small adjustments, and trusting the process.

Swipe through to hear how it all started. ⛳️

It’s easy to think the answer is a new driver or the latest technology. Sometimes the biggest gains don’t come from changing your swing – they come from moving better.

🧊 Frozen Shoulders are so hot right now 🔥

If your shoulder feels stiff, it doesn’t automatically mean you have frozen shoulder.

🧊 Frozen shoulder (adhesive capsulitis) follows a very specific capsular pattern of motion loss because the shoulder joint capsule becomes inflamed and tight.

Typically, motion is lost in this order:
❌ External Rotation (the biggest limitation)
❌ Abduction (lifting your arm out to the side)
❌ Internal Rotation (reaching behind your back)

This predictable pattern is one of the biggest clues we use during an evaluation.

Many other shoulder injuries can also cause stiffness, but they don’t usually follow this same pattern. That’s why a proper assessment is so important—treating “stiffness” without identifying the true cause can delay recovery.

Think you might have frozen shoulder? Let’s figure out what’s really going on.

⛳ Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Golf Mobility Screening at Fairways & Dreams in Conshohocken!

We had a fantastic time meeting golfers and discussing how mobility, balance, and movement quality can impact both performance and injury prevention.

Each participant received an individualized mobility screening focusing on:

🏌️ Thoracic spine rotation
🏌️ Hip mobility
🏌️ Shoulder mobility
🏌️ Balance and stability

We also went through a simple pre-round dynamic warm-up that golfers can perform in just a few minutes before heading to the first tee.

One of my favorite moments of the evening? After completing the warm up, one golfer came back and said he “hit some of my best balls” immediately afterward. While every golfer is different, it’s a great reminder that preparing your body before you play can make a real difference in how you feel and perform.

A huge thank you to Fairways & Dreams for hosting such a great event and to everyone who stopped by. If you haven’t checked them out yet, I highly recommend it. It’s a beautiful facility with knowledgeable, welcoming staff who are passionate about helping golfers improve their game.

If you’re experiencing pain during your swing, feeling limited by stiffness, or looking to improve your mobility and performance on the course, I’d love to help.

A little late, but too good not to share! 📸

If you caught our Stories last month, you may have already seen a few highlights—but this event deserved a permanent spot on our feed!

We laced up for the Flyers Alumni Walk Run Ride and loved getting out into the community, supporting a great cause, and connecting with others who value health, movement, and giving back.

It’s been a busy summer filled with patients, screenings, community events, and plenty of miles. Thank you for being part of it! 🏃‍♀️💪🧡🚨

Summer’s not over yet—we’re just getting started! ☀️

Yesterday we made sure to at the Ruff Ride! If you want to do more than say “thank you for your service” I encourage you to join in supporting this event! 🇺🇸 🚲

Funding highly trained and accredited service dogs as well as offering lifetime support to veterans is what does, and this event helps support their mission.

Ruff Ride is a unique (& really fun!) event where riders keep a spin bike going for 24 hours. The vendors alongside me were so kind, and I met some really great people while we did mobility challenges and Normatec recovery boots for sore legs.

Also, dogs! 🦮❤️💙

The off-season isn’t just about getting stronger—it’s also an opportunity to improve how you move. 🤸

A few weeks ago, I provided mobility screenings for players throughout the Valley Forge Minutemen organization, looking at movement patterns that can impact both performance and injury risk.

Over two evenings, players were screened for limitations and asymmetries in key areas that influence skating mechanics, stride efficiency, edge control, and rotational power.

Identifying these restrictions early can help athletes move more efficiently, perform at a higher level, and reduce unnecessary stress on their bodies throughout a long season.

It was great meeting so many dedicated athletes, parents, and coaches (as well as seeing some familiar faces!) and having conversations about performance, recovery, and staying healthy throughout the year. 💪
