It was an honor to help celebrate the life of Darrell Olden Bullard, a true cowboy whose kindness, stories, and unmistakable personality left an impression on so many throughout our community.

From the Western touches to the family and friends who gathered in his memory, Darrell’s Celebration of Life reflected a man who never met a stranger and made people feel welcome wherever he went.

Larry Wray Hart

Larry Wray Hart

June 13, 1946 - August 21, 2026

Larry Wray Hart, 80, of Kingfisher, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on August 21, 2026, surrounded by his family in love and prayer.

Larry was born in Abilene, Texas, to Wray Willard Hart and Billie Sue Collins Hart. He grew up in Eunice, New Mexico, where he graduated from high school in 1964. A gifted athlete, Larry played baseball and football, helping his teams win multiple state championships and earning All-State football honors.

After high school, Larry attended Sul Ross State University in Alpine, Texas, on a baseball scholarship before earning his Bachelor of Science in Education from Eastern New Mexico University.

Larry met his high school sweetheart, Dena Carol Key, and they married in 1966. Together they built a life centered around faith, family, education, and athletics and their son, Mick and their daughter, Michele.

Larry was drafted into the United States Marine Corps on June 18, 1969, and proudly served his country before returning to teaching and coaching. He taught and coached in Texaco and Lovington, New Mexico, and Guymon, Oklahoma, before spending more than 30 years at Kingfisher High School. To generations of students and athletes, Larry was a teacher, coach, mentor, and friend. He was famous for telling his athletes to "rub some dirt on it."

Larry loved music and played the piano throughout his life. He enjoyed old Western movies and cowboy music, especially John Wayne and Hank Williams. He rarely missed a Dallas Cowboys game and loved baseball, basketball, hunting, and especially golf. He could never get enough of it-and he was very, very good at it. He loved animals, especially bird dogs, cats, and cardinals, and found joy in simple things like a cold Coke, cutting the grass, hamburgers, snickers, brownies, and coconut cream pie.

A lifelong athlete, Larry continued to snow ski, water ski, and tube well into his early 70s. He won countless golf tournaments over the years, and many people might suggest that he's played the most rounds out of anyone on Kingfisher golf course.

Above all, Larry was a strong Christian man who loved people and made them feel loved in return. He was an elder at Kingfisher Church of Christ and always ready to lend an ear or helping hand. His faith and family were the foundation of his life.

He is survived by his wife, Dena; his brother Joe, and wife Olga and their family; his son, Mick, and wife Tina, and their children Lindsey and her husband Fred, Erin, and Reese; his daughter, Michele, and husband Ricky, and their children Peyton and her husband Dakota, Trey and his wife Mikah, and Paige; Michele's stepchildren Whitney, and her husband Cale, Emily, and Tyler; and his great-grandchildren Lizzy, Marston, Emory, Anna, and Macy.

Larry lived a big, vibrant and meaningful life. He loved hard, worked hard, played hard, and left a little piece of himself with everyone who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.

Visitation for Larry will be from 9am-6pm, Friday, August 28, at Sanders Funeral Service.

Funeral services will be 10:00am, Saturday, August 29, 2026 at the Kingfisher High School Gymnasium. Under the direction of Sanders Funeral Service.

Louie Paul Kostka

Louie Kostka, 77, of Kingfisher, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at his home on August 17, 2026. He was born October 27, 1948, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Ersel and Betty Kostka.

Louie was a hardworking and accomplished man who spent much of his life in the oil, trailer, and marina industries. Early in his career, he worked for Continental Oil and Kostka's Roustabout before beginning a professional relationship and friendship with Dorsey Brown that would span more than 30 years. During those years, Louie worked with Oklahoma Trailers, Evergreen Marina, and Trailers by Dorsey.

Louie also had an entrepreneurial spirit. For a time, he owned and operated the City Cafe in Kingfisher, where he had the opportunity to serve and visit with people throughout the community. After a lifetime of hard work and dedication, Louie eventually retired.

More important than his work were the people in his life. Louie cherished his family and the time he spent with those closest to him. He was a devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. Those who knew Louie will remember his strong work ethic, independent spirit, and the unmistakable way he approached life on his own terms.

Louie was preceded in death by his parents, Ersel and Betty Kostka; his sister, Jamay Horn and her husband, Billy; his paternal grandparents, Louis and Helen Kostka; and his maternal grandparents, Ed and Mary Egelston.

He is survived by his children, Darrel and Tammy Kostka, Blu Kostka, and Corey and Lara Kostka; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild, along with family members and friends who will carry his memory with them.

Louie will be deeply missed by those who loved him, but the life he lived, the work of his hands, and the memories he created with family and friends will remain a lasting part of his legacy.

Darrell Olden Bullard

On August 15, 2026, we lost a good man - Darrell Olden Bullard, 84, of Dover, Oklahoma. Born on March 21, 1942, in Vinita, Oklahoma, to Walter R. Bullard and Willadean Ruth McCully Bullard, Darrell carried a spirit you don't see much anymore. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Carrol Ann Bullard Heupel Muggenborg. He is survived by his sister, Linda Sue Bullard, who continues to carry forward the family's stories and memories.

Darrell never met a stranger. If you talked to him once, you remembered him forever. He had a way of making people feel welcome, seen, and valued - whether you were a lifelong friend or someone he met five minutes ago. His warm smile, easy conversation, and genuine interest in people made him unforgettable to everyone who crossed his path.

For many years, Darrell worked at the Kingfisher COOP, where he became a familiar and trusted face to farmers, ranchers, and neighbors throughout the community. Mornings at the COOP were legendary - coffee with farmers, stories shared across the counter, handshakes, laughter, and the kind of community that's hard to find today. He wasn't just an employee; he was part of the heartbeat of that place. Because of him, his children grew up learning what respect, hard work, and real community look like.

After those long mornings, Darrell often spent afternoons at Sunrise Café or City Café, where he somehow managed to talk to every single person in the building. He'd draw pictures for folks, tell stories, and make sure no one left without a smile. That was just who he was - giving pieces of himself away without ever running out.

And if you ever heard the sound of spurs coming down a hallway, you knew exactly who it was. Darrell wasn't just wearing boots - he was wearing history. He lived life with the quiet pride of a true cowboy, born a hundred years too late.

After retiring from the COOP, Darrell embraced the slower, peaceful rhythm of retired life. His greatest joy came from his grandchildren, whom he loved deeply and proudly. He passed down the same old‑school values, humor, and warmth that shaped his own upbringing. Watching him with his grandkids was like seeing the best parts of him all over again.

Darrell is survived by his loving wife, Rhonda Bullard, and his children: Greg Bullard, Gina Sigl, Viki Whitman, Kattarina Cope, Cherokee Bullard, Jessica Bullard, Shadow Bullard, Maverick Jones, Lakota Bullard, and Laramie Bullard. He also leaves behind grandchildren who adored him and will carry his legacy forward.

A Celebration of Life will be held on August 29, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Life Way Church in Kingfisher, Oklahoma. Family, friends, and anyone whose life he touched are welcome. In honor of his love for the cowboy way of life, guests are encouraged to wear Western attire.

Darrell will be remembered for his kindness, his cowboy spirit, his spurs, his laughter, his stories, and the way he made every person feel like they mattered. His legacy lives on in all of us - in the way we treat people, in the way we show up for each other, and in the way we carry his values forward.
