Everyone knows UV is harmful to your skin, but did you know that it is also harmful for your eyes?

To protect your eyes from harmful solar radiation, you should wear sunglasses that block 100 percent UV whenever you are outdoors in daylight. Your eyes need protection even on cloudy days because the sun's damaging UV rays can pe*****te cloud cover. There are various types of sunglasses to fit ALL lifestyles.

To kick off the summer, Mohave Eye Center is offering contact lens patients 30% off a pair of sunglasses with the purchase of a year supply of contacts. For more details please see an optician in either Kingman or Bullhead.

January is National Glaucoma Awareness Month, an important time to spread the word about this sight-stealing disease.

Glaucoma is called "the sneak thief of sight" since there are no symptoms and once vision is lost, it's permanent. As much as 40% of vision can be lost without a person noticing.

HELP RAISE AWARENESS:
In the United States, approximately 120,000 are blind from glaucoma, accounting for 9% to 12% of all cases of blindness. Here are three ways you can help raise awareness:

Talk to friends and family about glaucoma. If you have glaucoma, don’t keep it a secret. Let your family members know.
Refer a friend to our web site, www.glaucoma.org.
Request to have a free educational booklet sent to you or a friend.
Get involved in your community through fundraisers, information sessions, group discussions, inviting expert speakers, and more.

If you have not already made your yearly appointment to check for glaucoma, please feel free to contact our offices at:
928-763-1000 for our Bullhead location
928-753-2106 for Kingman

12/15/2017

Our offices will be closed December 25th, 2017 and will re-open on January 2nd, 2018 at 8 A.M. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. Please feel free to contact either office if there is an emergency.
