Well Being is offering a new Yoga Workshop Summer Series: Return to Stillness

This 5-part workshop series is for anyone feeling stressed, anxious, burned out, emotionally overwhelmed, disconnected from their body, or unable to truly rest.

Every other Sunday, we’ll gather for 90 minutes in our yoga studio. Each workshop includes:

A short talk on yoga and nervous system regulation.
We’ll explore yogic psychology and philosophy alongside a modern understanding of the nervous system, stress, anxiety, burnout, emotional overwhelm, and how practices like asana, breathwork, meditation, awareness, and rest can support balance.

Yoga asana for nervous system balance.
The movement will be intentional and accessible. Some practices may be slow and grounding. Others may include gentle activation, warmth, or movement before returning to stillness.

Breathwork for regulation.
You’ll learn how different breath techniques affect the body. Some support calm and parasympathetic activity. Others may gently activate the sympathetic system in a controlled way to build capacity and bring the system back into balance.

Meditation for presence and integration.
Each session closes with guided meditation and stillness so the body can integrate. Meditation is not about emptying the mind. It is about building the capacity to stay present with yourself in a kind, grounded way.

This Series Is For You If…
You feel anxious, stressed, burned out, or emotionally overwhelmed.
You have trouble relaxing even when you finally have time.
You want to understand why your body reacts the way it does.
You want tools you can use outside the studio in real life.
You want yoga that feels therapeutic, grounded and supportive.
You are seeking presence, breath, stillness and a deeper connection to your body.

Sundays, 9am-10:30am
June 14th & 21st, July 12th & 26th, Aug 9th & 23rd

We’re restocked with these stunning Ammonite fossils! 🤩

Ammonites are customer favorites and it’s easy to see why. With their beautiful natural spirals and ancient energy, they are both captivating display pieces and powerful tools for personal growth.✨

Ammonite is the fossilized shell of a marine mollusk that went extinct over 66 millions years ago. Carrying the wisdom of ancient Earth, it is believed to support transformation, evolution and spiritual growth. Its sacred spiral symbolizes the interconnectedness of life and the continual journey of expansion and becoming. 💫

Known for its grounding and protective qualities, Ammonite is said to help clear negative energy, create stability and encourage a greater sense of balance and well-being. It is also associated with vitality, abundance, prosperity and success.🐌

We have a beautiful selection available in a variety of sizes, from mini specimens to extra-large statement pieces. Visit us in-store this weekend to see the selection! 💛

Have you ever found yourself in a peaceful moment- a moment where there is no rush, no urgency, nothing immediately demanding your attention- and yet you aren't able to relax? You sit down, but your shoulders stay tense. You try to breathe, but your abdomen is tight and your chest feels constricted. You try to relax but your muscles are still braced against potential threats to your safety- both real and imaginary.

Most people think that stress only happens in the mind- that by changing your thoughts, you can change your reality. But where stress really takes place is in your body. Stress feels like pressure building up on the inside. It feels like a furrowed brow, a tight jaw, a closed throat, and shoulders raised up towards your ears. It expresses itself as shallow breath, as elevated blood pressure and rapid heart rate. Stress is not just racing thoughts and emotional volatility, it’s a somatic, embodied feeling of danger. Even when life slows down and gets quiet, your body is still acting like something has gone horribly wrong and it’s up to you to fix it.

So, what can you do to let go of stress? It is going to take some commitment on your part. You can’t make yourself feel calm just as you can’t think your way into presence. As Alan Watts used to say, “You can't force your mind to be silent. That would be like trying to smooth ripples in water with a flatiron. Water becomes clear and calm only when left alone." Stillness, therefore, is not something that you achieve by force, it is something you cultivate through practice.

The good news is that your nervous system is not hardwired, it’s adaptable. Neuroplasticity means that the nervous system can change over time through repeated experience. You can’t stop life from being stressful, but you can cultivate inner peace by training your nervous system to return to balance. A single moment of calm, or the occasional moment of clarity, is not enough to make a long-term impact. To cultivate more equanimity in life you have to commit to the bit, so to speak. Only by repeatedly returning to a state of harmony can you begin to create new neural pathways, leading to real, lasting change.

Roof repairs are now underway at Well Being. Due to last week's rain, the project had to be postponed and rescheduled for this week. We're hopeful that the work will be completed by the weekend.

For the safety of our customers and staff, Well Being will be closed Wednesday, June 3rd through Friday, June 5th while the work is being carried out.

We plan to reopen the shop over the weekend, and massage appointments will resume as soon as the repairs are complete.

Assuming everything stays on schedule, we expect to return to our regular hours and be open daily beginning Monday, June 8th. We'll continue to keep our website and Google listing updated with our current hours and any changes.

Thank you for your patience, understanding, and support while we make these important improvements. We look forward to welcoming you back soon! 💙✨
